You just don’t like the shoe personally, which is fine lol. Complained about the weight, but were ok on your comparison shoes that were heavier. Complained about the price, then showed comparisons which put them in the correct price range. Didn’t like the rear foot upper area then showed the Invincible which had the changes you said you wanted…oh but then suddenly didn’t want that anymore. Interesting lol.

DEFINITELY the Invincible. That shoe got me through a lot of tough days when the legs felt like they didn't want to move. Perfect for recovery days when the legs need all the help they get get with incredibly soft foam and trampoline-like bounce.

QD: Honestly my favorite Nike running shoe of the past year was the infinity react 2. I didn’t have any issues with the tongue because I never pulled it hard since it never needed to be pulled hard, rather just slightly adjusted. I think the infinity react does a good job of providing me with a lot of cushion for any type of run and is durable enough to go easily over 600 miles

I’ve been looking forward to your review on these for a little while. I work run specialty so get my hands on a lot of shoes. I really really love the infinity 3s. Been wearing them for a couple months pretty much exclusively and haven’t found myself reaching for anything else. I definitely like it more then the invincibles. But to each their own!

I liked the first version after 50km of break in. I actually ended up buying 4 pairs in total all on sale around £63-68 ($85?). I get about 1000km out of them, so the value is right up there. Mainly using them as easy/long shoes.

I am someone that always suffers motion sickness before anyone around me and I certainly appreciate the stability offered by Infinity 3. It's an optimal balance between stability and comfortability to me. I tried Invincible 2, Pegasus 39 and Fly 5, they are more comfortable to my foot, but none of them provide the same stability which I prioritize most.

QD: Infinity Run 3. I use this as my office shoe and my post-work runs. Ride is buttery smooth with that React foam, rocker and mild stability. I started not being able to run for 5 minutes straight but now I just ran my first 10k. I’m in a tropical country and I’m not even complaining on the upper for even a bit. Not everyone needs to run fast to enjoy running on this shoe, and I know I’m not alone on this🤙🏽

QD: Nike Infinity Run 2. A solid daily trainer. Perhaps a little controversial considering the relegation it received but this is an under appreciated shoe. It's got cushion for miles and is very stable. Yes it is heavy but it's not pretending to be a racer. For me it's the Infinity Run 1 & 2.

QD: My favorite Nike shoe is the Infinity React 1. So much so that I've gone through 3 pairs at about 500ish miles each. For me, it has enough cushion for the easy and/or long days, and the rockered shape kept my legs churning. It also had enough responsiveness for when I wanted to kick it up a notch. Unfortunately, I've yet to find another Nike shoe that doesn't kill my feet. Like the Invincible hurts my legs like hell, and I have no idea why.

And to my surprise, I really liked the Tempos. Was able to pick up a pair at a significant discount last fall and started running with them this year. Amazingly agile shoe with some serious pop. QD: I'd also say either Invincible run or Streakfly even, to go with two of their newer models and not with the Vf/Af. BUT I did enjoy the infinity run 2 as a workhorse just because it has a little more cushioning than say the Pegasus. My issue with the Invincibles is that they're putting a lot of pressure on my heel and Achilles area and I'm prone to tendonitis there anyways

Idk if it was just psychological but when I started to run in this shoe I had no pain anywhere. QD: only Nike I’ve owned since the 80s is the AlphaFly. It took a couple of years for me to “bite the Nike bullet” for marathon racing and yes…what a difference. 3:10 - 3:03 marathon. As many commenters here seem to say, little about their training lineup offers real value over the running specialty brands. Perhaps they could compete on price if they chose to.

Seth I agree with you on this shoe. The heel collar was uncomfortable and it actually caused my left ankle to bleed. I have about 80 miles in them and my ankle is finally healed that it doesn’t hurt anymore. I think the heel clip in the heel seems to cause my ankle to slip more. Thanks for sharing.

QD : By this time of the year, in 2021 I was finishing "destroying" my Nike Vomero 15 shoe. What a great daily trainer! But after that I was not impressed with the Pegasus 38 , the I skipped the Vomero 16 ( too much padding and huge fluffy tongue) to try some thing different elsewhere. This year I got the Nike Zoom Pegasus 39 FlyEase and so far I'm loving it because at least it has two "wow" factors for me : dropped some weight ( almost like a Peg 36) + more stability and the FlyEase tech.

Thanks for the thorough review, Seth. Favorite Nike Running Shoe? React Infinity Run Flyknit v1. Tried these on when I bought my first running shoes, New Balance 860s, 4 years ago, but I always remembered how good the Nike uppers felt, so I bought them a year later and another pair at a clearance store. Didn't like the v2 so I picked up a v1 on Poshmark. I'm about to rotate out a pair of v1 with almost 500 miles on them, though they still feel great. Just ordered a pair of v3, so I hope they work. I also have a pair of Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 38s in my rotation; these are nice for running up to 8-10 miles, but I don't like them on longer runs.

Good vid as always! when u run in cold weather 10 months out of the year what is this obsession with breathability of the upper? I run in my Infinity V1 (still going good) when i want cushion, stability of foot strike, and react type energy return (which varies with the temp). I run in Saucony Ride 15 when i want a cushioned totally foot protective but neutral midsole without energy return. Unknown about the heel thing but I thought Demoor maybe missed on this shoe a bit because it is a "type" of shoe for a certain preference. Some days I want max energy return. Some days otherwise. Maybe Infinity is for slow runners instead of sjd type performance runners?

I have run most recently in the Books Cascadia models mainly the 8, 9 and 10, with 10 having such a crappy upper like a 2.5--3 out of 10 I got a second pair in 2017 on deep discount on Amazon smaller sports stores had to deep discount the shoes as the 13 or 14 was coming out. The only Nikes I have ever run in are the Nike Cross Country Miler spike and the Nike Tailwind Air in Middle School for Sprinting track in 2003, a modern take on the old Tailwind of 1980 with more modern midsole and removable sock liner but still with an all leather upper. ASICS Nosia Tri was actually made as a Triathlon running shoe first, that really only became a daily trainer after people found out how light a daily trainer can be, when the ASICS Gel DS Trainer became as light as the final Racer model of the same year that people started racing in same model as their daily trainer so the next year ASICS stopped the Racer and I got 6 pairs of Gel DS Racer models for really cheap anywhere from $35 to $25 on Amazon and found a single older previous model of the Gel DS Racer on Amazon being sold as the final model for $45. I had to use Shoe Goo on the holes of the DS Racer shoes.

tough out here in the shoe industry. react foam in general was the grail just a few short years ago. i still Love every react shoe ive ever run in. theyre the only shoe i can consistently run in, as long and as often as i like without any sort of pain or "injury" as you like to refer to it as. i dont think these are trying to be a track weapon, just a good all aroud training shoe. i will agree with you in ONE area, 160 is way high for these. but i usually buy previous gen react runners/trainers at my local nike outlet, scored my pair of these for 54.99. cant beat that with a stick.

QD: Nike Vomero 16 has been my favorite. It’s like a Pegasus but with ZoomX/SR02 foam. Otherwise, Nike is like Brooks to me. Nothing exciting at all, but Nike’s quality has gone down where Brooks has high quality. It’s also sad the Epic React FK2 turned in to this… the Epic React was such a good shoe!

QD: I didn't buy any Nike shoes this past year. The most recent Peg rubbed the top of my toes and while I liked the Invincible it was to much $$$ for a daily trainer. For the record I've been in Brooks Ghost, Hoka Clifton twice, Asics Evoride (didn't like it) and currently Adidas Solarglide over the past year.

QD: I know this was more than 365 days ago, but for some reason nothing Nike has put out in the last 2-3 years seems to come close to the Nike Epic React Flyknit 2. I'm still buying them any time I can find them in my size; Nike outlets, StockX, even eBay if I have to!

Just purchased the v3 and I have to say - they feel amazing on my feet. Walked, ran w/ them and weight trained, all good. Sounds like you have it in for Nike.

The Epic React was one of my favourite running shoes of all times, the follow up which was more of a collour update was also great but then the infinity series is crap - they claim it's the same foam but it doesn't feel like it and the "flyknit" is definitely not the same upper anymore. All three infinity shoes are heavy, clunky and not nice to run in....

I'm loving my Zoom X Flyknit-I use my old pair (900+k) for recovery runs and my new pair (100+k) for long runs-they have saved my legs to push harder on my hard days, and they are so enjoyable to run in, shoelaces suck, but I just go and buy a cheap pair from my running store! Problem solved. I may get out of bed and can hardly move but once these shoes go on my feet-I feel like I'm walking on clouds.

He’s a hard grader. A lot of people like these shoes. I’m not planning to buy them, though. Everyone’s preferences and needs in shoes are unique to their anatomy and running mechanics. QD: Nike Vaporfly Next % 2. Shattered my half marathon PR by over five minutes on my first run in them.

I'm not a die hard Nike fan, the last Nike shoe that I actually liked was the Pegasus 36. It got me through a full marathon before even going with a super shoe.

QD: The last Nike shoe I owned was the 2017 Terra Kiger. I enjoyed it. Ran my first 50 miler in it. But, I live in an area now where there's just not many trails and Nike does NOT make good trainers. I loathe React foam. It feels like it is literally sucking the life out of my legs. It's the equivalent of having suspension dampers on your legs. It's soft. But, there's no bounce. It's probably good for burning calories though. A given run will require 10-20% more energy using a shoe with react foam vs. any other type - including standard EVA.

QD: I haven't tired any nike race shoes, but I wish I could find the streakfly in my size. I brought some Peg 37s on sale for $49. At 320 miles they are still good (that's like .15 cent per mile).

I am proud to say that I still have a pair of zoomfly flyknits with about 300 miles on them with about 150 to go. It has been my 3rd or 4th pair of them and by far my favorite nike shoe. Great long run, tempo shoe still to prepare for raceday feel in one of their zoomx CFP shoes. Hoping that the ZF5 drops some weight and gets back on the right track... common Nike!

QD: My Nike React Infinity Run 1s we’re my favorite shoe. Put almost 500 miles on them. Long runs felt great with them. Love my Infinity Run 2s also. Favorite running shoe FOR long runs on pavement. Not good shoes for trails or anything other than long slow runs, but those are my favorite!

QD: the Pegasus Trail 3 was by far my favorite Nike shoe this past year. It has been my go-to daily shoe on the trails. In regards to the Infinity Run, I actually really enjoy it for daily miles. I’m 6’5” and 205 lbs, mostly muscular/athletic build, and very quickly found my heels hurting when I increased mile in the Invincible. The softer, squishy ZoomX just compresses too much under my weight without the added support of the plate like the VaporFly has. As soon as I switched back to my Infinity’s with the firmer, heavier foam, the heel pain went away. There’s also something about doing a lot of miles in a heavier shoe, and then feeling that magic when you slip on your super light racer.

QD: I've only ever owned the Pegasus 37 (which I realize didn't even come out this year, lol). I gave it to a friend after 20-ish miles since it kept giving me blisters (I have average width feet but it was still too narrow, and the next size up was too long). So I guess that's both my favorite and least favorite Nike shoe. I like the ASICS and New Balance fits better for my feet.

Unfortunately the pegasus 37 was one of my least favorite running shoes, I had issues with that model myself. A great shoe with a wider and comfortable toe box is the hoka rincon 3 and the holka mach 5.

QOD: I just used my Vaporfly 2’s for the first time at the Buffalo Half Marathon and I have to say they are not the most comfortable shoe, but the “Zest”! Man oh man were they awesome to race in! On another note all Nike shoes I’ve tried as daily trainers in the last few years have been complete flops for me. Lack of comfort and many other issues. Disappointing because I was always a big Nike running shoe fan.

QD: I run in Nike shoes a lot as they are the only shoes that work for me with how I like the responsiveness with my foot-strikes. For me I would say within the Last year I would say the Vomero 12/13s are my favorite trainers to run in. Idk if this happens with anyone else but react takes at least 80-100 miles to break in before I can enjoy then and I can’t say the same for lunarlon. If you guys want a good Nike shoe to run in. I say give the vomeros a try

REACT definitely needs some break in time though, after 100 km they soften up and become more lively. With most foams it's the opposite.

I actually really like the line, went thru 3 pair of 1s and 2s and got like 900-1000km out of each one. So I really dont understand the fuss about this one, like it's weight shouldn't matter that much because it's a trainer and i've done tempos amd repeats in them and they were fine. Also price is what it is but IMHO no running shoe for training only is worth buying at full price, and Nike has good deals on it's shoes every 4-5 months
