Saucony Triumph 21 is an excellent shoe and much cheaper here in Australia where they are currently on sale at Running Warehouse Australia. Using a coupon code you could pick them up for $152 AUD which is approx USD$96 or €91 or £79. And you can pick up last year's Triumph 20 for $30 cheaper! I have multiple pairs of the Triumph 20 and am very satisfied. The Nike Vomero 17 is $240 AUD and not discounted (yet).

I picked up the Vomero 17 yesterday and ran a 5 x 1 mile repeats, then a 4 1/2 mile recovery run today. My legs feel wonderful. Although not the ideal shoe for mile repeats, it performed fine. Due to the comfort and impact protection, it may be my favorite daily trainer ever and is perfect for easy days, long runs, recovery runs, and is probably fine for strides and easier tempo runs.

Call me an old romantic Edd, but the first video I saw of yours was talking about the Vomero (16), so it always harks back to those days when you post a Vomero video. You've come a long way boss - I salute your good work.

I know you weren't fond of this shoe in your first review, but I ran in these for the first time the other day, and I absolutely loved it. Great comfort and bouncy underfoot. This is the Nike Pegasus on steroids, a great long run shoe. The Zoom X top layer combined with Cushlon 3.0 is 🔥. (IMHO)

Im gonna wait for your 100 mile review for this one, zoomx shoes tend to split away from the upper, specially in the hot weather i run in. Vomero 16 and peg38 are the only ones which lasted for me for 400 miles, zoomx i can barely make it past 100-150 miles. Asics, adidas, puma all of them have been giving us some solid shoes, hence vomero 16 was the last nike shoe i picked up. Great review edd 👍

I think it’s a bit dependant on the weather conditions. Seems to be more prominent in warmer climates.

Nike shoes are seriously overpriced where I live in South America, so Adidas are my usual go to. However, I've picked up a pair of Saucony while I'm here visiting the UK and I am well impressed. 👍

As 200+ lbs runner. I ran one of my fastest runs in Asics Nimbus. It absorbs but shoots you right back, especially uphill. For my weight zoom x is too soft I go right through, the same with fuel cell. Those are too soft for heavier runners.

Ha ha - pleasant surprise for the shout out near the end :) Yeah 4 runs in for me now. Not done a video yet as still sort of trying to work it out. Certainly not a shoe one needs to only do 2 strides in is it and then say too expensive anyway :) It has softened since the first run which did feel firm. It now though sort of has that somewhat disconcerting Invincible feel where I feel I am sinking a bit and, as such, forward motion isn't as "easy" as I would hope for in an easy day shoe. I tried to run a bit faster in it today towards the end of my run as was late and that was a bit of a struggle too although maybe am now just too used to wearing "super" shoes too often. It is not exactly "light" - average daily trainer weight for me but at least it does not "feel" heavy. Oddly though one shoe is 14g more than the other although now I can't really notice it on foot but rather odd. Lockdown is decent enough for my narrow long feet. A reasonably padded tongue as we have here always helps a lot in that regard. It is also certainly comfortable just walking about it but maybe shame about the running! Traction today was also fine on very wet roads. But overall bit disappointing. Can't really see what am getting over a Pegasus for somewhat more and I kind feel the Pegs are "easier" to run in. Somebody on a FB forum said they felt they came alive at HM pace. Well I was (at least hopefully !) somewhere off getting there today nor felt I really wanted to try!

Re: musical interlude; I truly hope (for Mrs. Eddbud’s sake!) that opening new shoes don’t give you the feelings implied by the New Shoes lyrics. Truly new shoes may give us a desire to get out the door and run, but the vibe I get from this song is that you won’t be running back.

I will wait for a possible Black Friday deal before I think to get the Vomero 17 at full price. Here in Brazil it is a bit more expensive than the NB 1080 v13, More V4 ,the Gel-Nimbus 25, Gel-Kayano 30 or a Mizuno Wave Sky 7 ! The Vomero is costing as much as the super expensive Invincible 3 ( costs almost as Adios Pro 3 or Mizuno Rebellion Pro )that is 35% more expensive than all other high cushioning shoes ! I'm not sure why Nike raised their prices so much in here since 2021 ! New Balance and Saucony recently re-establish their business here, and their prices are much lower than Nike's.

Hi Ed Love these videos! I’m looking for an easy/recovery shoe to partner with my Superblast. I’m torn between the Triumph 20, Nimbus 25 or magnify 2. Im a 70kg runner, but wanting to protect my legs as got a couple of marathons pencilled in this year now so looking for that comfort. I had a pair of more v4 but found them clumsy, heavy and not enjoyable to run in 😢

I tried the Saucony Triumph 21 on a liked them .The midsole feeling soft but a kind of bottomed out feel compared to previous editions. I generally like a firmer feel and I liked the Saucony Ride 14 and 15 better cus a firmer more responsive feel to those compared to the Saucony Ride 16.The 16 felt like the rubber traction under the ball of the foot wore out too fast leaving a bottomed out feeling with a soft but floppy unresponsive feel to them. Never tried the Vemaro only the Pegasus which have been hot or miss over the years. The problem is no matter how good a pair of running shoes feel in the store its hard to know how they will feel once you've ran a couple of 6 to 10 miles in them

Seems quite odd that a super shoe is good right out of the box and then goes flat after 50 to 100miles..a brick like the vomero, and almost all shoes, you have put up with the hard midsole until it's just about worn out..reminds me of jeans..just about when they're comfortable and soft they tear out..maybe the kids are onto something and just buy them worn out with holes and all..maybe you could sell a shoe beating up service and we can get someone with feet like bricks to beat up our shoes until they are ready..😅unfortunately my feet are too old to waste time breaking in hard shoes..
