Choosing a pair or running shoes nowadays is a nightmare. And when you have to replace a pair that fits ok, the manufactures have made another version of the shoe that is completelly different. Thanks for the videos!

1st time viewer - that was one great review - kudos. I was about to buy this shoe, however given that water, snow and slush are a staple where I live I will look at another. I'll be bak!

Ryan, I love this shoe. Think it’s my shoe of 2021, worked great around my last 100km ultra. (Except drainage and got heavy when wet)… just about to do my 250km review on it. I agree, it does nt feel heavy but is and very comfortable , great upper 👍

Great review, great video as always, Ryan. I've had two pairs of the Wildhorse 6 and I agree with you about the heel, I saw that some other people had issues with it and I can honestly say it's never been an issue. I loved the 6 and the two pairs I have are coming to the end of their life so I think I'll be picking up the 7 sooner or later.

Nice review Ryan, I dont get why some people dont like these shoes or Nike shoes in general (trail only), IMHO they are awesome, looks like you share how I feel about it

Thanks Oscar, hard to say why, but I agree they have a lot of positives!

Good review. You’re spot on about water absorption and drainage. I really liked them but had to return them because they don’t drain at all and take like 3 days to dry out from sweat / water.

Yeah same experience here, definitely a liability in a race if it rains

Hey Ryan, great review. sorry if its a strange question to ask, How many miles do you think the shoe has in it. I walk about 5-7 miles a day, just urban areas. the front of the sole is now worn away i noticed this happened around the 200-225 mile mark.

Your channel is really a great source of inspiration for me, even though I am just starting to run a 4 kilometers (again) ... and it definitely makes me wanna buy a lot of running shoes :-) ... any chance you are reviewing some Brooks at some time ... bought the Brooks Ghost 14 for my re-start and really like it (I am not running on trails here), but I also do not have anything to compare to ... anyway, thx again for this amazing channel and Greetings and all the best from Germany :-)

Thank you so much!!! Good luck as you get into it. And yes, Brooks will be coming to the channel soon!

As someone who has been running in zero drop shoes for years (both of us) how did the significant increase come into play? This shoe intrigues me but other shoes I've purchased with >4mm have bothered my knee.
@RyanClaytonFilms3 жыл бұрын
For me, it actually helped on flat and uphill, but downhill I did notice it and had to be a bit more careful not to tip forward. But other than that, the transition has been smooth

How is this compared to Pegasus trail 3?
@soulzerosix Жыл бұрын
These shoes are very, very comfortable and surprisingly have been very durable. However, they are outright dangerous in wet conditions. Even running from my door to the trail after a drizzle doesn't feel safe at all. I hope they have dealt with this in the new version because a trail run shoe that doesn't work in the wet doesn't make sense.

Hey Ryan great video! Got a question You mentioned this is a good shoe if you can afford multiple trail shoes. What would be the shoe, if you could buy just the one?
@RyanClaytonFilms2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And that's a really tough question, but if you are someone that runs ultras it would have to be something that can go the farthest distance you will need it for. So I would put the wildhorse in there, the hoka Speedgoat (which I'll have a video of the new unreleased model asap), and also maybe an altra Olympus. Those will all be able to handle shorter stuff too, but keep you covered on the ultras.

I wonder when Nike will address the rubber compound issue. The fact all their trail shoes turn into ice skates in anything other than dry conditions keeps the shoe from being a top contender.
@RyanClaytonFilms3 жыл бұрын
yeah, it's kind of confusing. you just need to slow down a bit but not sure how the pro's handle it.

@@RyanClaytonFilms Nike probably gives them a pair with Vibram lol. Or this could explain why their Nike Trail athletes leave lol.

I also run in the Wildhorse 7 for the longer and a little more gentle running days in the trails. The midsole also works fine when transitioning from road to trail and the outsole rubber is holding up great. Nike says there's a segmented rock plate in this shoe but I'd like to see pictures of this. Although feet feel protected throughout from sharp stones/roots etc it doesn't run like other shoes I've used with a rock plate. Despite the stack height (and rock plate) I'm still able to get a sense of ground feel which is great for me. Thanks for the review. Enjoying your channel.
@RyanClaytonFilms3 жыл бұрын
That's great to hear, I totally would love to see a picture of the rock plate and agree with you.

The previous Wildhorse 6 was an absolute fave of mine, got me into longer distance trail running, hundreds of miles on my pair. Then I broke my ankle (not related to the Wildhorse). Since getting back into running over the last 9 months I can no longer run in the Wildhorse on rocky, uneven ground. Before it was perfect, now I find it unstable in the heel and it gives me ankle pain. Bought the newer v7, no different. It's sad as they used to feel and work fantastic!
@RyanClaytonFilms3 жыл бұрын
Ahh that's too bad, hope your recovery from the broken ankle is complete, and you are back to running full time again!!
