Nice review - cool channel, have not come across this before, subbed. I am huge Altra fan but also like Nike - quite a contrast - had the wild horse 5 and 6 ... keen on the 7 (my Altras are unfortunately falling apart too soon - but stay with them, done many reviews). I enjoyed the WH 6 ... cheers again

I would definitely. It might be a little snug though. With a wide foot I would check out Altra trail running shoes

Really really considering getting these but the trail i do here where I'm at is pretty rugged and the shoes I'm currently wearing don't have enough cushion or comfort. They are starting to hurt my feet now. Like you said in the video, we forget we aren't 20yrs old anymore haha but Yea, i hope these shoes are really good in comfort cause they seem to check all the other boxes pretty nice.

Visiting Utah and Colorado soon for first time. Plan on doing a lot of hiking and trail running while there. I've been struggling with shoe choice. I want something that runs a little narrow, has good support, good cushion, can be used for more than just hiking in the mountains, and has good traction. I plan on being there in may and everyone says you have to pack like it's going to be snowing and cold one day and 70's the next. This seems like it would be a great option for a lot of those criteria. If you have any other options you would suggest I would appreciate it! Keep up the great content! I see your channel growing quickly. keep the action, scenery, and content rolling out and you'll do great. Make sure you let us know how all this gear holds up over time.
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
To be honest I think this would be a great option, along with any Salomon hiking shoe - Like the XA pro 3D. The XA probably has a bit more stability built into it than this Nike but both would do amazing for traction. I appreciate the kind words and the support, you will definitely enjoy Colorado and what people are saying is 100% true!

There's a hiking trail a mile from my house, do you think is okay to walk there in the Wildhorse 7? Seeing as I would be walking 2 miles (walking there as a warm up and walking back as a cool down) on cement. Do you think that would be an issue?
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
I don’t necessarily think it’ll be an issue, however it will wear the shoe down faster than keeping it completely on dirt. If you’re looking for more of a all-terrain shoe the Nike Pegasus trail 3 would be a much better option for road and trail combined
@benmolhant41643 жыл бұрын
Awesome, looking forward to full review. Could you show the heel padding inside the shoes?
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
Will do👍🏻. I typically overlook this part of a shoe because all sock liners are typically the same - I tend to put insoles in every pair of shoe that I use. I'll be sure to show it - Trevor
@Seahawks19763 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! For hiking and all day wear would you recommend these or the pegasus trail 2's? We do 8-10 mile hikes here in the cascades as well as rucking locally. Love the look of both. Thoughts?
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
I would definitely recommend the Pegasus Trail over this shoe for an in-between trail and everyday wear. The Pegasus Trail outsole is much less aggressive and will last longer if you are on cement. The Pegasus Trail 3 comes out early June and I will be getting my hands on a pair for review, it looks great and a decent overhaul to the shoe!

@@rmkvisions do you have a natural arch to your foot? I am pretty flat footed, and was wondering about these. I haven't been able to find them around me to try on in person.
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
I do. The shoe has no arch support built in just the same as every running shoe, you can always throw in your own running insole which will take care of that!
@Mackenzie25763 жыл бұрын
Are these suitable for wet conditions?
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
I would say they are suitable for wet conditions traction wise, the outsole is very grippy and aggressive. They are not however waterproof so your feet could get wet, I don't typically like using Gore-Tex running shoes unless I know I'm going to be in very wet conditions. I hope this helps - Trevor

Can you comment on the stability? I read that due to high heel height, the shoe is unstable on trails where even small rocks can upset the posture leading to ankle strains or injuries.
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
So this is a tough one. The shoe Definitely has a rounded heel which at first I thought would lead to unstable striking but in the couple runs I have taken it on if anything it has made me be more of aware of where I land and in turn made me more stable. I am a pretty stable runner in general and do not need any type of extra stability shoe but I think that the shoe is just a stable as any other higher drop trail runner.
@RowOfMushyTiT3 жыл бұрын
Maybe try the kiger 7, the heel is much more stable
@jae20293 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the demo. Have you had a chance to use them for hiking yet? I am considering them for hiking (70%) and trail running (30%). How is the heel stability and traction? Thanks!
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
Actually took them on a hike the other day. The full length Nike react foam is great to help lighten the load. The traction is amazing, the outsole is plenty aggressive. The heel stability is definitely a bit weird but honestly I think it works, it's not like a typical hiking boot obviously but for trail runners I think they do a great job!
@jae20293 жыл бұрын
@@rmkvisions Thanks! I don't want a full hiking boot because they are less versatile. I was between the Wildhorse 7 and the Pegasus Trail 2, but I think that I'm going to try the WH.

The wild horse definitely has a much beefier and substantial outsole so I think that's a good call!

@rene33993 жыл бұрын
would these be okay to simply walk daily in?
@rmkvisions3 жыл бұрын
They wouldn't be a bad shoe but with how aggressive and sticky the outsole rubber is it would wear down very quick on cement. Most trail shoes do much better staying on the trail. Hope this helps!
