The Happy Zoo events are surprisingly good at teaching things about pluses and minuses of owning a pet + responsibilities that comes with owning one. And, well, what happens with a lot of abandoned ones. Great stuff.

This event truly broke me when I first played it. It happened alongside one of my oldest dogs resting, the way I just stared at Ruru talking about her safely crossing the bridge at 1 in the morning really made me cry. I'm kinda sad you didn't check the messages for this event.

Nya Nya Paradise, lets goo! A classic slap (across the face) of an event. Ruru o7 (at least we can get a Ruru sticker now... that's a plus, right?) This event always gets me on board the feelz train. While the event still causes rainy weather whenever i watch others play it, at least it isn't as bad as when i went through the event for the first time myself.. no barrier or filter or any idea what was coming. Sure we had at least 2 depresso events already but it was a Happy Zoo event and i was Like "Man, Bow Wow Paradise was fun and look, it's called 'Nya Nya Paradise', similar title and everything, it's gonna be another fun adventure". I was not ready for the roller coaster with built-in hands to constantly slap me in the face (especially the bonus gut punch at the end with the hardmode scene and the final blabla message). What i really love in this event (aside from Ruru) is how they showed that there a lot of good people who'd want to help or be friendly with Ruru. It even shows that, for all it's flaws, the C-Gov cares enough to have strict laws in place to try and protect animals. Looking forward to watching the other Happy Zoo events: Bow Wow Paradise and (once it's added to archive) Lion Heart. Need the fluff to balance out the sadge.

the last chapter remind me so much of the movie Hachi A dog's tale. broke down crying when i watched it, also cry for a couple solid minutes for this too.

Arty been attracted to Nero's "Mass thing" 😅 Well, Nero is indeed 'Big' Jokes aside, this story is 1 of the best event in NIKKE. We all feel bad for what happened to Ruru.

I remember when this event came out, and even though it definetly had a depressing atmosphere, shocked people with how sad it was in comparsiom to Bow Wow Paradise, the last Happy Zoo event. This event is definitely one of the best and most depressing events in Nikke. If only it had voice acting to make it even sadder! On a less related note, I have Lovely Lonely Cat set permanently as my commander center bgm. That melancholy feeling fits with the lonely vibe of the Command Center.

@ArtemisLunaVT Indeed! I remember this and Overzone coming out and people thought that we'd be getting big depression events after a few happy events. It really had the community worried about how much we'd be crying! It's kinda funny to look back on now. I think some of Nikke's best writing is in the events that aren't afraid to make you feel sad and get into heavy themes, such as Overzone which I think most people (including myself) find to be the single best event Nikke has ever done due to how good the writing is in the event, even if it makes me cry every time I replay it!

You know there eventually will be a NIKKE event that breaks you. If hasn't happened to you it will happen in the future that I can assure you. Overzone really did that to me if I had a gun I miss might have done a Dorothy a long time ago.

In german clay and bay's unit is called "cheerstar" instead of rewind. That name is so much better lol. Also poor kitty :( having my cat of 16 years put to sleep last week makes this event hit so much harder

I had heard this event was a depression fest, but god if I wasn't expecting it to make me miss my dog in the process. This game has really gone above and beyond for solid, yet often saddening writing; moreso than anything I was expecing going in.

The whole bits about random Rapture fights between each story segment seems to be a common thing in gachas. It’s probably because the devs fear losing interest if they don’t add combat every so often. It reminds me how in Grand Order, they eventually got confident enough that entire story segments dropped combat entirely. Some of the Lostbelt endings had just hours of dialogue because they realized random combat parts there were just distracting.

the other day I went through this event while I was on a break at work, oh my God, I cried 3 times. I have had 5 cats in my 26 years, and despite the fact that I have been allergic to animals for several years, I was very sad when they gone

aw fuck, this event originally ran like a week or so after my family's cat passed (she lived 18 years) and it hit me like a truck. took me like twice as long as it usually takes to finish an event

I don't know if she still doesn't understand how Nikke's gameplay works because checking the "blabla" messages is essential to get extra content from the stories. The final message from the cat sent from heaven is the cherry on the cake of this tale.

This reminds me of my family cat who passed away, he died in September 1st 2020. I still remember like it was yesterday how I tried not to cry and ended up sobbing. He helped me a lot through middle school. I like to think he thought “Look kiddo, I’ll help you get through middle school. But after that, you’re on your own, but know that I’ll always be looking after you in heaven” Ernie was a good cat. I remember how every day when I came back from school, he would always be sitting on my parent’s bed waiting for me to pet him. Death is inevitable, therefore we should cherish those we care for. Rest in Peace, Ernie.

Yep made me cry a second time. I lost both my parrot and one of my dogs to old age round about the time this event came out and I straight up ugly cried. Shiftup really knows how to tell stories that evoke a wide range of emotions. On a side note just found your channel today and I enjoyed the content, I wish you all the best.

Seems you didn't do the BlaBla messages for this event, which is a bit of a shame. The final text you get after finishing the epilogue is definitely the perfect send off for this depressing event.
