I don’t like how this documentary is portraying Nikki’s mom as such an angel, and Nikki as rebellious teenager. His mom was a neglectful, abusive mother. Nikki built his career all by himself, with the help of his 3 brothers in the Crue. That’s it

Actually lucky they had Nikki. Nikki made this happen. The dude couldnt even play music, but damnit, he was gonna be a famous rock star. Nikki should teach a college course of how to make it in the business. I reminded of the verse in primal screen that says it all. "IF YOU WANNA LIVE LIFE BY YOUR OWN TERMS, YOU GOTTA BE WILLING TO CRASH AND BURN." He just simply refused to be denied.

I'm a 54 year old black dude.... Raised up on R&B, and Rap. The first time I heard of the Crue was from a friend in 10fh grade. He had his biology book cover made of Crue! I was like, " look at them wild ass b****""!" He told me that they were dudes and Awesome! When I graduated I moved in with my childhood friend (R.I.P) Todd. He had posters if them everywhere on his walls. I started reading up on them, and there life style was like ours. All party and no food. Cheese and and bacon soda in the fridge. I joined the Army and did my time, but the Crue kept rockin'! I finally went to the Dr. Feel Good concert with my Temple, Tx heads in Austin, Tx,, and that was off the charts!!! "Warrant" opened up, followed up by "Judas Priest"😎💯😆😱, And then MOTLEY CRUE!!! TOO MUCH EXCITEMENT IN ONE NIGHT! FEMALES EVERYWHERE!!!

You are so right, FM didn’t play any New Wave in the LA market. KROQ was the underground radio station in Pasadena and became world famous! I was in my early 20’s at that time. I had just attended many area rock concert in the late 70’s and transitioned into punk and new wave. It was very exciting to hear something new and different. I remember attending a Madness show at the country club in Reseda in 1981. I also remember how cool it was to drive down the freeway listening to Rodney on the ROQ playing Institutionalized! It was a great time! The early 80’s New Wave was great!!! Congratulations on your million subs….long time subscriber. Thanks for what you do!!!

I still remember going into a record store and buying the "Shout at the Devil" album when it first came out. When I first looked at it I was thinking "who are these chicks?" LMAO! Then, I ended up liking the album so much that I played it constantly. It would have been totally awesome to be in Hollywood hanging out on the Sunset Strip back then. I wish I hadn't lived so far North of there. I was in my room playing my guitar for like 8 to 10 hours a day back in the early '80s. Those were the ultimate days to be there in Hollywood and have a good chance of getting into a band and making it big. Dam...I missed out. :( I still like to make trips to Hollywood to go to the clubs and see bands there. There's still some of that magical feeling there left over from the good ol' days. At least the Whiskey, Roxy, Viper Room, Troubadour, and a few other clubs are still there. :)
@deb7412

@OZRIC1985 it is 6 years later and I'd like to know if those clubs are still there in March 2024? Your comment kind of made me laugh with you saying you wished you hadn't lived so far North of there because I wished/wish the same. Though you I'm guessing didn't live so far North of there that you couldn't get in a car and do a road trip if you could drive or had friends who could drive and had cars? My to far North from there was then, and still is now impossible even with a road trip, bus or train with a vast ocean separating me from those clubs in gloomy repressive UK where most people can't afford air fare or sea fare tickets further than Crete/Turkey, if lucky the Maldives for a week. I can't afford air fare tickets to anyway anymore with the cost of living having gone up so much. I once went to Florida as a young teenager and loved loved loved it, was devastated to have to return to dark ages backwards North/North West UK. I have though lived abroad when younger in Europe and a few Islands just off there before they became part of Europe and the day the UK joined Europe I jumped estatically with joy, my freedom pass doors wide open welcoming. And the day of Brexit and England leaving Europe insanely, well that was my coffin nailed and sealed. Money devalued, UK prices rocketed, certain products vanished from the shelves and those welcoming open doors within actual Europe now slammed in British faces. I truly feel trapped, held hostage, held prisoner, held under repressive oppressive dark aged poverty stricken backwards UKUSSR (made that word up, it is fitting) dictatorship unable to escape the crushing gestapo vice grip of the silencing how dare you even breathe UK!

This video REALLY takes me back. When I had been in JR High school, about 1984, I had bought myself a cassette tape of "Too fast for love", at a flea market. It had ended up being a cheap copy of the real thing. BUT, I did still play that cassette of "Too fast for love" in my "walkman" over and over. I had just met my current Best friend forever, we are STILL best friends and will always be. And, we had BOTH ended up falling in LOVE with heavy metal music. Bands like Motley Crue, Ozzy and Skid Row had been what had ended up being what we had been excited about. Even some other bands like "SLAUGHTER", WOULD END UP BEING POSSIBLY SEEN AND HEARD AND ALSO CHOSEN TO BE THE real " FAVORITE PLACE OF MAYBE some OF THE "FANCY SHMANCY" LINE OF PEOPLE AND EVEN THE LINE OF PEOPLE THAT WILL INCLUDE THEM HAVING AT LEAST A few LITTLE OR MAYBE EVEN JUST 1 POSSIBLE real "HIT SONG" THAT WOULD MAKE MOST OF THE BANDS BE EVENTUALLY SEEN AS BEING WORTHY OF BEING MENTIONED AND THEN MAYBE "INTERVIEWED". IT WOULD BE JUST A SITUATION WHERE THE PERSON WHO IS BEING INTERVIEWED IS BASICALLY IN CONTROL OF THE WHOLE SITUATION. AND THAT IS BASICALLY A SITUATION WHERE I MUST HAVE BEEN IN CONTROL OF ALL OF THE EMOTIONAL STUFF. AND, I HAD BEEN REALLY IN CONTROL OF MY OWN EMOTIONS THAT DAY.
