Actually,... NO, he doesn't.... because John said 'In HIS opinion'. you can state your OWN opinion ABOUT his opinion, but you cant say that someone doesn't feel the way they do. Also,... if you hold 'shift' and press enter it will create a space to make paragraphs so you aren't stuck with typing one huge block of text rendering it highly unlikely that people will read your (lengthy) input. You're obviously a massive Crüe fan, its great to see that level of enthusiasm, but nobody has ever made a 'good point' by calling people 'dumb-ass' ya know?

The Crue, like many other rock bands in history have had their good, bad, great and sad moments. No matter what, I can personally say, they are a GREAT bunch of guys. I met the band in Chicago in the late 90s (I won't say where for privacy of the band). Tommy wasn't there, having gotten himself busted for something that had to do with his wife/girlfriend at the time..The guys walked in with their attorney/body guard following them. (He was wearing a suit) They all looked pretty normal to me with the exception of Vince who at the time, had blond and green hair. I knew OF the band but looking like normal fellows I didn't recognize them and jokingly said to Vince, "Whats with the green hair, Sporto? If you're trying to do the "incognito" thing, you might want to try red." (I have red hair n was just joshing around not knowing who these guys were). Vince started laughing and asked if I knew who they were. I said, "Let me guess...big rock stars and you n your green hair are hiding from the crowds of screaming stalkers n freaky people!" (More laughter) he answered, "Rock stars, yes, hiding from fans -never, we love all our fans. Without them, we wouldn't be rock stars!" (They joked around with each other saying, "You wish you were a rock star" blah blah n turning to Vince, I said, "Well damn glad to meet ya, Rock Star!" We talked n joked a little more , and they left. During the silliness, I forgot to ask who they really were.. Strange enough, Two days later, I seen Vince and his green highlighted hair on VH1 doing a short interview. It was MOTLEY CRUE! Truly, nice, normal (off stage) guys all of them. ROCK ON GUYS! YOU'RE A GREAT PART OF ROCK-N-ROLL HISTORY!
@Odinsjoke10 жыл бұрын
Plus.....I never knew Nikki was the brains behind the band. Even in his worst state hiding in his closest thinking the bad people were coming for him, so he flushes all his drugs down the toilet (read the book)...he still was in control of the band and wrote almost all the lyrics and the basis of all songs. Just amazing!! One day it will catch up. They know it. But what a life of living on their terms and not societies. Just for a minute...I think we would all like to live life on our own terms and not how society tells us how to live. But one who tried....what brings you back is family, friends, love for life and love for a good day. One can never explain the darkness unless they have seen it. But one who has seen it is able to keep others from going to the Wild Side! It is fun at first.....but no way to live a life. But that doesn't mean the music can't continue. Love the music....live a good life....love the music!!

I was born in the late 70's and grew up on Motley. Their music is/was so raw and chaotic. My older sister would lock us out of her room but we'd sit right by the door and listen to her play MC, Ratt, GNR, KISS, etc. I've been searching for some good docs, that I haven't yet seen, and this one popped up. The Dirt (book) was one of the BEST reads. Gonna have to pick that one back up again soon. #kittylitter

So others have cooler stories and I love hearing from that era, but my Motley Crue story is classic 1980's for me. I was 18 in 1985, just perfect 80's man, so I was actually too young when Crue was gigging in the clubs to even get in, but I remember the flyers all over Long Beach and BAM magazine with crue in them standing over the pentagram or it in the background with the candelabras and skulls in the picture and thought who the hell are these guys. But one afternoon my neighbor, Rob, a well connected punk rocker, but so cool to me, comes over and gives me one of the Crues cassettes - one of the supposed only 500 that were first done and somehow he got it (he did roadie for alot of Long Beach Bands - TSOL is the main one). But he was just a nice guy a little older and he comes over and says he knew I'D like it, but it wasn't his things. Man.....I turned all my freinds on to the crue and we played that cassette till it broke (I literally lived for a while just across ball rd from what they called "radio city" in the day at OC's Ball rd and Knott ave, when it was "happening" (was still a dive though, they all were) but we'd stand outside and listen when we could and the marquee always had crue, great white, ratt, i recall poison and some others that were good but didn't make it, but those were such good times....

Interesting that they completely ignored their self titled album with Corabi. I know it is still probably a sore subject with Vince but it's part of the bands history. Having been a diehard fan since 1983, I refused to give the album a chance in 1994 because to me Motley Crüe could only be "my buddies Sixx, Mick, (Vince) and Tom". I said at the time they should have called the band something other than Motley Crüe. I boycotted the band and the album. With time though, I was able to listen to that album with an unbiased ear and what a great album it is. Hooligan's Holiday is just a stellar track and to this day one of my favorite Crue songs.

There's a story that I can't really remember well but Nikki entered in a music store with an empty bass guitar case. He spoke to the owner and managed to make him look for something in the rear shop. Meanwhile Nikki graped a guitar and put it in the case. Nobody saw anything. When he cambe back to the other guys of the band, happy with his new pursase, they laughed at him telling him it was not a bass but a guitar. I don't really remember well the story and could the other way around. But I don't see how he could have put a bass on a guitar case.
