People complained that it got "too political." So crazy. A Purge would only start happening for political purposes and then inevitably, people would organize and plan mass targeting. It's horrible. That's why the movie is scary because it sadly feels possible.

I’ve got it at #3 (fittingly). I’d say Anarchy is the best, and the original is #2 because there’s something very organic about it. After this one though, I feel they go downhill drastically. I like election year, but it truly does feel like they started reaching a bit.

I love Anarchy for the sheer action elements but Election Year is my favourite based on the redeeming qualities of the characters and their principles. I am also a huge fan of Elizabeth Mitchell as the Senator. She is so underrated and under utilized as an actress. Watch her in Running Scared with Paul Walker it is such a raw flick, I must have seen it 10 times.

30:47 Yes, Steven. "Trace" bullets exist. They are a type smart bullets. They can transmit location data for up to 70 meters, I think. Last I heard they were just prototype ammo, but they do exist.

@Rick King 22 Purge 3 was the ending. The First Purge was just that, but still a great last film to tie the series up. The Forever Purge wasn't executed well. Characters weren't written as well and I found it ridiculous that with an extended purge we lost none of the main characters.

My rankings: The Purge: Anarchy (2014); The Forever Purge (2021); The Purge (2013); The First Purge (2018); The Purge: Election Year (2016.) So, considering how different our rankings are so far, I am pretty excited to see y’all’s reactions to the next two films 🙏🏼☺️ I absolutely love Ethan Hawke, he definitely raises anything he’s in by a whole point. I know this is late and probably already covered, but that knife near the end is called a push dagger. It's an effective close quarters weapon and because of the ergonomics and the design of the blade it can actually puncture body armor.

Definitely my fave Purge movie. The opening scene of the senator's family set the tone. Also, the Purge would evolve over time and we'd see things like,young women decorating cars w/ fairy lights. Costumes. Tourism. People would find a way to make money off it, like the Sanitation Dept.

I don't know that it existed then, the trace bullets, but I don't see a reason why the guts of an apple airtag couldn't be put into something large and fired, though it would probably kill whatever you were tracking to do so from size alone, and would also probably fly like shit.
