I don't think I've ever commented on one of your videos before, but it is my Sunday morning ritual to watch your videos while I drink my coffee or tea. I love how relaxing they are! I also love how you balance a whole food vegan diet while still also enjoying processed foods occasionally. It's super realistic and gives me a lot of inspiration to actually get to the store and start meal prepping on Sunday! To respond to your question, I think they should just label foods as "vegan meatballs" or whatever else they are veganizing. I know that a lot of companies who produce meat products are pushing back against that because they fear they will somehow have meat consumers buy vegan products by accident instead of the original product. But vegan meatballs sounds better than veggie balls 😂

I LOVE this, thank you! First of all, thank you for being here, and for taking the time to comment and let me know that my videos have become a part of your Sunday morning routine. That honestly makes me so happy 😊 And I agree about the term veggie balls lol That made me laugh. It's also so good to hear that my videos give you some ideas for meal prepping and making more homemade meals throughout the week. That's really my biggest passion, helping to make home cooking more practical and enjoyable. It lights me up to hear that the recipes I share are helpful in that way. Thanks for letting me know! I hope you have a great rest of your Sunday and a happy week ahead. Sending you love ❤️

Just check the sides of the root ball for the plant! Shimmy it out of the pot and if the roots are circled around the sides then it is asking for a new pot and more soil. The new leaves are babies 😊 Thank you for sharing images of the city! I miss it!! But I agree about feeling icky from it. Obsessed with the Nugo bars, bitchin sauce, and the Catalina crunch cereal!! Really love that you gave recipe ideas after grocery shopping, so helpful. I think they market vegan food that way to appeal to non vegans, but it actually sets them up for failure. I’ve had so many non vegans not like a product like those meatballs, and then not want to try anymore vegan food.

I hate when that happens! Like they have one not-so-good vegan meal and they’re turned off entirely. That’s why I’m always trying to create tasty recipes that people can share with others, even like cookies or something. Sharing good food is such a powerful way to open people’s minds but like you said, the opposite can also be true sometimes. I’m glad you liked the grocery haul with meal ideas. That’s good to know! Thank you 🥰🥰 Hope you have a great day! ☀️❤️

I totally agree with your rant! I think one of the issues is that some people are less picky/have a less sensitive taste, so those vegan meatballs may taste enough like real meatballs for them to want to call them that, but others wont agree. Similarly, there are those recipes out there that say "omnivores will love this" or "your family will never know it's vegan!" yet it tastes far from the original. It's tricky buying health-focused products that claim for a good flavor but choose ingredients over correct taste. Some of those products are amazing as long as I don't have the expectation that it will taste like the original. There's a time and place for both the healthy and the imitation products! The ones that have really clean ingredients but taste close to the real thing are true unicorns!

I ❤ peanut butter on waffles I usually sprinkle cinnamon & lil brwn sugar on top, only in NY does the market look like the stock exhange😄,, I think vegan meals shld be in a class of their own, ur right sometimes creating the classics fall short, like spaghetti & meat balls are not the same for me the meat is needed to enrich the sauce, so I make a sun-dried 🍅 pesto instead & it's great!
@NikkiVegan6 ай бұрын
Ok yum, adding brown sugar on top sounds so good! I need to try that! Thanks for the tip 🤗 I see what you mean about calling vegan meats something else. I think it's confusing when they're some that are SO similar to meat taste/texture-wise like Beyond Meat, but then there's another category that are veggie-based and so they're something different. What should those be called? 🤔 These are the things I wonder about...lol Anyway, hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for being here ❤️

First time commenter 🎉. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. To me the term vegan refers to lifestyle, so the food can be less healthy and more processed, as long as there are no animal, animal by-products and does not exploit animals. Plant based in my mind is more whole and minimally processed foods/meals though not everything needs to be cooked from scratch, eg Mary’s crackers or Ezekiel breads. Hope this makes sense.

I agree with your point on foods that do not taste like the meat version I think they definitely still do have their place. I personally prefer veggie burgers over impossible and beyond because I never liked the taste of beef before I went vegan. I also love buffalo cauliflower even though it doesn’t taste like chicken wings because it tastes amazing in its own way.

I totally get that! That’s how I feel a lot of the time. The veggie version is different but so good! It’s a separate category but idk what to call it lol

I use to get them all the time... those packages are so expensive and it'd like one person mean ... I would pretty much mash them and use as *ground beef* goes along way. Also it's best to just make it bulk yourself and save ALOT OF MONEY 💰 🤑... AS for vegan foods it's best to just stick with whole foods and that's the whole point of being vegan ... I prefer using the word **plant based ** says it all ❤

My favorite meals are those that were created vegan in the first place, usually cultural dishes that with minor swaps (ie oil for gee) are the same as they were before meat became so easy to come by. The problem is they usually take a lot of time and effort to prepare.
@NikkiVegan6 ай бұрын
Nicholas and I talk about that all the time! There are so many cuisines that are very vegan friendly, like you said with just a few swaps. I love when that’s the case because they tend to be so flavorful and very plant forward which is so nice 🌿 agreed about the prep time though lol

For two years, I have been accumulating vegan, raw and plant based recipes. Unfortunately, I've been gravitating towards cooked vegan and plant based recipes which are sometimes less healthy than raw unprocessed foods. There is quite a difference between vegan, raw, and plant based foods. Vegans are meatless meals with fruits and vegetables cooked in plant oils, faux meats, sugar, salt, and highly processed foods. While Plant Based foods are meatless mostly cooked and raw plants with minimal oils, sugar, and salt. Plant based Raw foods are raw fruits and vegetables. My goal is to consume plant based and raw meals with high proteins. Recipes must be totally delicious or it will sit in my refrigerator and spoil. 😣 I'm always looking and trying new recipes that are delicious and nutrient dense.
@tamcon726 ай бұрын
There is no vegan diet: Any diet void of animal foods is vegan compliant. It can have processed foods, minimally processed foods, raw plant foods, or a combination of them. The idea that "vegan" foods all have oil, salt, sugar, and anologue products (also varied in their composition) is not factual and I don't know where it comes from. Well, I do: The anti-vegan social media sphere. "Plant-based" means vegan-by-mouth. A diet of mostly plant foods with some animals foods already has a name: Omnivorous. "Raw foods" can mean anything from 80/10/10 to a raw "carnivore" diet. There is a lot of confusion because "vegan" and "plant-based" are used interchangeably by everyone to describe what they do not contain--animal foods--but fail to describe what they _do_ contain. I hope my comment helps.
@NikkiVegan6 ай бұрын
I hear you and I also love eating some raw fruits in veggies in their most simple form, but some foods like spinach and tomatoes actually develop a different nutrient profile when cooked so it’s not always that raw is better than cooked, it’s just different. I would say the most important thing is to listen to your body and not stress too much about whether food is raw or cooked. Eating is about also pleasure and enjoyment, and that’s important too. I’m not an expert but I have personally seen a lot of benefits from just eating the foods I enjoy eating and limiting “rules” and stress around meals as much as possible. Life is meant to be enjoyed 🌼🌿❤️☀️
