Great video, thank you. Have had a load of scopes in a row I haven't got on with and a few people recommended a Nikko Stirling to me, the parallax error adjustor seems really useful seeing as I'm normally shooting at about 20 yards not 100 yards.

No problem. I'd definitely recommend Nikko Stirling, and yes the ability to adjust the parallax is invaluable at shorter distances.

Great review. Clearest explanation of parallax I've seen. Glad to see the scope work so well it of the box because I ordered one yesterday 👍 I have the same old 4x20 on my old 1980 Gamo Magnum and I can see why you preferred iron sights 🤣🤣🤣 It's like looking through a straw 🤣 One thing people new to scopes might not appreciate, if you have a high magnification scope with no AO, as you said it is set for 100 yards, so effectively on an air gun at 10 - 20 meters you would struggle using beyond x6 magnification.

NS scopes are very good quality. I own the non IR version of this scope, which I have had for many years. I have just purchased the IR version to fit on another rifle. Excellent review, good explanation of parallax.

I had a Hawke Vantage with IR, I never used it and accidently switched it on and drained the battery, don't think I'd bother with illuminated again.

Yes on this one you can but some scopes are also adjustable via the knurled knob (Windage and height). Happy shooting!

Bought one today , got it in a package deal with my Weihrauch hw99s , that is up on my KZbin channel , haven’t reviewed the scope but prefer my other scope that only cost 5 pounds more to this scope , everything on that scope is easier to hand to adjust cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧

I caught the name, Nikko and thought I would investigate it.... On a .223, during setup, ran out of wind adjustment. Scope stayed to the right of the target by about one foot. Some of you know what that's like to try and do a small grouping when you gotta hold off target.... Ended up running side to side a couple times before it would work properly. I much rather have the scope that I sent to my son on an AR I gave him.... One thing to remember about all those $40-$60 Chinese Scopes. Those lens, at that price are not very good and usually you don't run into all the issues until you've owned it for a couple years........ Nice review from the other side of the pond.....

I just put one of these on my Henry H001 22lr. We have recently gotten this brand where I live in Kentucky, it was a good buy at $50, I hope it holds up decently for squirrel hunting and plinking. I'm impressed with the clarity of it though.

I have used scopes from well known makes and I own the 4x12x50 Ao nikko scope with parallax adjustment and it has increased my accuracy I use these scope on all my guns and the only downside is that the picture is not as clear as other well known models but they are cheap and very accurate once you know how to adjust paralax

Did you get a spare pair of mounts with the scope? I bought 1 & it came with dovetail mounts only. I've had to order some high level picatinny mounts to get it onto the gun I intend to use it on. I have since mounted it on another gun & found the illumination didn't work, changed the battery & can get green but no red-needless to say I'm not pleased.

nice vid.. have a walther .177 terrus in wood that a nikko 6X40 A/O scope came with.. just ditched rings and got quad bolter rings on full mount.nice quality scope.. also put on hatsan air stripper to threaded barrel. 1/2 X 20 u.n.f.

Hi, I got a 2-7 Nikko Sterling Airking for my BSA Comet the most rear grub screw in mount wouldn't line up with slip slot at rear of Rifle, had to buy some UK single mounts, w have you had experience with this rifle or scope

Hello soo i got vortex crossfire 3-9x40 on my hatsan edge, now im planing on getting hatsan 135 in .22 he is also offering nikko stirling mountmaster 3-9x40 ao ir, should i spend more money to get thst scope or should i just transfer my vortex crossfire to it cus i wont be using hatsan edge anymore

excellent vid .. had a 4 x 20 scope on my mercury ( 1974 ish ) just dug it out of the cupboard so too speak .. put new spring in ( old one was left cocked for ages as the trigger mechanism had froze ) all sorted now ( 40yrs later ) and ready too go ..( with new scope my son donated ) EXCEPT one thing , stock is cracked by the pistol grip part .. any ideas out there how too repair it? MAY have it hydro dipped carbon effect once done ..

+Mark Homer Hi Mark. I'd try some good quality wood glue. The stock is only likely to have cracked at a weak point, and quite often when it is glued back together it is stronger than it was before. I have a friend who used to build guitars and he would actually cut the wood, then glue it back together to make it stronger.

Killed two of them on my magnum springers before the tin with pellets was empty.. They are fine but use them on low powered springers, match air rifles or PCP. For magnum springers the Hawke Air Max series is the best choice.

Usd scopes for under £50 free postage on most at ebay got a lovely Hawke scope , have Nikko sterlings too all reasonablescopes good sized AO 2-12x50m m cheapie ones were £36 6-24x50 huge big lump of a thing reasonale magnification , best as spotting scopes no good for breakbarrels

Hi what is the real world closest you can focus this scope? When I'm shooting indoors I have only got 8 yards, the fixed focus scope that came with the rifle cannot focus that closely. I know these are rated at 10 yards, but was hoping there might be a bit of play as well. Thank you.

This scope is pretty good a short distances. I'm not sure if I've ever focused it dead on 8 yards but when I first got the scope I was playing around with it indoors before I put it on a gun and I did get it to focus on a picture on the wall in the same room.

+fazooon It shouldn't be too weak. It's quite a sturdy scope and it is shockproof. Does the top of the Vantage NP have a hole for mounts with a recoil stop screw? Whilst I have never mounted it on any of my spring-piston rifle, I think this scope should be fine on a springer, even one with a stout recoil like the Vantage NP.

I had the none IR version. It didn't last probably not sturdy enough for a 28 joule diana springer. I have the Hawke 3x9x40 OA. Better scope.

I've never had it on a gun that has much recoil so I can't say for definite, but it is supposed to be able to handle recoil well.

These stink had bought 4 and only one has not broke yet. They are not clear and optics stink and they can't hold up to regular sprinters much less magnum springers

No, the Hawke Vantage wil Die on a heavier springer. I already killed one on my first evening of shooting with my Gamo magnum gas ram. Get a Leapers instead, and potentially secure it further with Bullseye sliding anti-recoil mounts. Knock-offs on Aliexpress for 15 bucks or less.
