@royalcat104 жыл бұрын
It's not *that* weird, just more of a... Utilitarian tuning? For lack of a better word. Periphery sort of does the same thing. If you look at the tunings closely, they show what they really are. B ADGBE & Bb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb So, the top 5 strings are just from the same old E & Eb standard everyone knows and loves, and the bottom string is just a B or Bb. You know what else has the same B & Bb on the bottom string, and standard tuning on the high strings? A 7 string guitar. BEADGBE & Bb-Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb It's just standard tuning or half step down of a 7 string guitar, moved onto a 6 string in a slightly different way. All that's happening is they're taking a 7 string guitar, and cutting off the low E string... So that you can have low chugs and high solos, just as a 7 string would be, without having to purchase a 7 string guitar and adjust to it. Essentially, they could just use a standard tuned, 7 string guitar for these songs and no one would be able to tell the difference in sound alone. It's not weird or experimental at all, it's just finding a way to get on a middle ground between a 6 & 7 string guitar.

Tehnoobbrothers it’s just a really silly thing to point out when it’s so obvious just by glancing at it. It’d be different if it was like oh wow this is drop C# with an A# for the low string but it wasn’t that lol it was oh wow it’s “drop everything half a step” tuning except up half a step... it’s a pretty meaningless observation to point out that it’s half a step up from AGCFAD.

Psyche I used High Drop D# On a paramore song once “Decode” and also linkin park “A place for my head” (I know that’s not really metal) you tune up a half step from E standard so it’s f standard and then you Drop your F to a D# (D#,A#,D#,G#,C,F) so like a drop D tuning tuned up a half step
