I actually do like mukbangs but only a small handful of them, like Zach Choi and such, i watch them because it helps me feel how delicious that food is, I'm actually a very picky eater, whatever wasn't meat or looked funny i wouldn't eat it without a second thought, these mukbang channels actually help look for new vareity of foods for me to try out. Zach Choi who i mentioned before at the first half of his videos even shows you how to cook the food that he makes which was really helpful for me especially since I'm practicing on how to cook and he's starting to show new things like salads and other healthy things recently with the mix of his food. So to me Mukbangs do have some useful feats, it just depends who you're watching, Niko and the crazy fish killing girl are definitely not a perfect example of what a mukbang youtuber is suppose to look like and i hate the fact that they're both the faces you'll see when you search up Mukbang and it's putting a horrible rep into the mukbang community as a whole. Overall if people don't like em i don't blame anybody, there are pretty understandable reasons that even i agree with, but theres some use to the mukbangs if you decide to give it a closer look.

Bryn Diesel I’m sorry to hear that but I’m glad that you found something to help u :) I watch ASMR when I’m extremely depressed or anxious and cannot sleep, it’s my emotional version of an appetite stimulant and allows me to process emotions as oppose to just drown in them. I live extremely isolated and don’t have anyone close in my life so as weird as I recognize ASMR is, for a lot of people it feels like you actually have human connection. Commenting again there is a theory that Mukbang started and current exists in Korea because Koreans generally don’t want to eat alone. Currently the number of one person families is increasing in Korea. Because most Korean restaurants require people to check in with at least 2 people at a time, a lot of people end up eating alone in their homes because they do not really have anyone else to eat with in the diners. In order to relieve some of their loneliness while eating alone, many of these stay-home eaters usually watch mukbangs through AfreecaTV at the time and currently in KZbin in order to feel like they are looking at or talking to someone else while eating.

If I'm being honest here, I don't really mind the mukbang thing, as I really only watch like, one channel. That channel being Zach Choi ASMR, one of the guys that you briefly shown in the intro. Usually I'd say something along the lines of "I hope Nikocado 'wakes up' and realizes that the money and fame he's getting isn't worth destroying his health for" but the problem with Nikocado is that it's pretty clear he's very aware but still continues to go down this road. That's why I stopped caring about trying to be part of the push to help him: you can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved.
