My lakers played great and it doesn’t even feel like a sweep. I mean… How do you get swept but all the games but 1 are within 5? Jokic is the best playmaker I've ever seen. He initiates offense at a different level. It starts with sheer dominance on the glass, on either end. He grabs a defensive board and either slings a ridiculous outlet or pushes the ball. He can score at will. His drive at the end of the game is scoring at will; how many players can take Anthony Davis to the rack off the dribble and finish through contact effortlessly for the game winner (literally the last points scored) in a tied elimination game? And I'm starting to think the contested 3s and 47% from downtown aren't all luck after he just keeps doing it (even on down shooting nights, by his standards). Enough has been said about his passing, there's an argument to be made that he's the greatest passer ever. He's an elite screener, whether it's on-ball, DHO, pindown, you name it. He's the best screener in the game right now because he knows who to screen and he's big enough to catch anybody. And then he turns around and cleans the offensive glass like nobody's business, and if he doesn't tip it in he just turns it into more offense. The and-1 from KCP in the 3rd was the direct result of Jokic's offensive rebounding & facilitating prowess. It's absurd how good of a basketball player he is.
@steviechampagne Жыл бұрын
He’s the best NBA player in the world and if he wins a ring this year he will be elevated to Top 20 of ALL TIME. He’s already one of the greatest basketball players we’ve ever seen. Watching an actual LEGEND that will be mentioned with the top NBA legends when he’s all done. It’s like watching Wilt Chamberlain or Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Nikola Jokic.
@samn90834 Жыл бұрын
Completely agree, it frustrates me so much whenever I see people saying he isn’t an all time passer on social media. I’ve never seen anyone consistently pull off the things he does, and his ability to always make the right decision is unbelievable. The more I watch him the more I think, has their ever been a better offensive player? Obviously Steph, Lebron and Jordan etc are in the convo, but they all had some offensive drawbacks, Jokic can do absolutely everything offensively, it’s insane to watch
@KnoxWheelerJr Жыл бұрын
@@steviechampagne If the math checks out, and a ring or two can prove it, he's gonna be regarded as an all-time great with very few peers. As much as we dog on advanced metrics (justifiably, in many cases), they're becoming less flawed and more predictive as statisticians fine-tune them. And they all point to one guy absolutely pulverizing the competition; now, we're just seeing it unfold in real time.

In 2020 we fought tooth and claw back from 2 3-1 deficits. Then we lost in the wcf, had the shortest off-season of all time, jokic played every single game in 2021, jamal got injured, our best poa defender PJ dozier got injured, Will barton who was still a good defender at this point, got injured, AG was new to the team, wasnt as good as he is now, wasnt acclimated to the team yet and we had to go against Dame Lillard who was absolutely nuclear the whole series with Facu Campazzo, Austin Rivers, markus howard and monte morris to slow him down. Then we lost in round two because we had that same team + MPJ hurt his back vs the blazers and tried to play through it. Then, last year, we still dont have Jamal, MPJ is out with his back problems, will barton is a shell of his former self defensively and has always been a shot chucker, Jeff green is 100 years old and declining, AG is solid, but should never be a teams 2nd option, and Monte Morris is BY FAR our best guard. These past two years have been hell. Before when we were ass, it was because we simply weren't good, but knowing what we had but never being healthy enough to show it hurt so much. This could be our only healthy year for the rest of the Jokic/jamal era and ill never complain again, its been magical

Lakers got decent leads in 2/3 of the next games (and was close throughout for the other), and then just folded...Nuggets would make a run, and the Lakers couldn't stop it until the lead was lost and that was that, never got it back. Nuggets had all the composure, and even though every game was close, they showed that they could keep it up over the entire series. frustrating as a Lakers fan because we could see they had the potential this series, just couldn't pull it out when it mattered most in every game.

I’m glad AG is going off. As a magic fan, they absolutely ruined his time here cause they couldn’t develop him properly. So rooting for the nuggets plus fuck the heats

Nothing better than actually being a Denver fan and watching a countless amount of analysts turn on their cameras after speed running the last 5 years of Nuggets history 😂😂😂

Jokic killer matchups he faced on his MVP revenge tour: 1. KATs Offense and Goberts Defense 2. Aytons Youth and KDs talent. 3. LeBrons legendary IQ and Davis' length and defense. For real, I can't think of a harder matchup for him than maybe Embiid and Giannis but dude averaging a triple double anyway. THATS INSANE!

Embiid is the only player off the top of my head that ever outperforms him head to head consistently. Just a bad style matchup for joker.

Jokic is one of the best NBA players of all time right now... out of this entire season this year alone, what other player in the NBA has been as consistent as Jokic? There are plenty of elite players and superstars but how many of them can be consistent all the way through the season AND play offs AND make it to the finals? this is a 1 in a century player

Congratulations to Nuggets. Well deserved. Disappointed that media is talking about Lakers instead of team that won. Happy about new media which isn't bias. Thank you Kenny for your on point analysis. Can't wait for a Nuggets vs Heat Finals. Gona be epic.

They're only talking about the Lakers because of lebron lol If Bron wasn't with the Lakers, then Denver would've gotten most of the coverage

I know we still gotta go through the draft and free agency, but tell me a western conference team that’s going to step up to the Nuggets anytime soon. If the Suns somehow manage to trade Ayton and CP3 and get a solid bench for KD and Book then it’ll be interesting, but that’s a big *if*
@kingjaffe9339 Жыл бұрын
The nuggets are literally breaking the mold bruh. When we look at championship caliber teams they are typically top 10 in both defense and offense but the nuggets were just average on defense but their offense is virtually unguardable it doesn’t matter!

Man so happy to see Nikola get all the flowers, after caping for the man for years. Im so inspired by Jamal and happy for him. Can we give MPJ his flowers? This dude is quietly the ceiling rasier of this team. I think people see him as this finesse player that only spots up and makes poor decisions. This dude does the dirty work for this team. He is the Andrew Wiggins. He attacks the boards at a high level, hes diving on balls, hes not afraid of any switch. He sacrifices more than any player on the Nuggets, hed be getting 5-7 more shots per game on any other team and be a focal point of an offense. After everything this dude has been through, show love to Mike.

I think this playoffs is a big sign for the Lakers (and other teams) to not go directly after another star. I mean we finna see the Miami heat in the nba finals. Forming a culture> bringing in another star that turns into a diva when they feel 'disrespected'.
