Nikon D50 | Review 2021 | Portrait Photography

We did a video on the Nikon D50 in 2020, and I love the camera so much I had to do my first shoot of 2021 with the magnificent camera that is the Nikon D50. The ISO is limited, the storage capacity is limited, but the hardy build, the wonderful color, and the general ease of use has made the Nikon D50 my go to back up camera moving into 2021!! All photos taken in this video were shot with the Nikon D50, for my first shoot of 2021.

I have been shooting with my D50 for years now. Bought it brand new when it was first released. I will always have a D50 in hand for photography. It is that good of a camera.

Four weeks ago I bought a D50 with three lenses. I wanted the lenses for my D3000. It is also a good old camera. But I tried the D50 and then I fall in love with it ;-). With greetings from lower Bavaria.

The d50 is a hard camera not to fall in love with! That built in focus motor makes such a difference too! And greetings!

I have a D50 I bought back when it was first released and still have it along with two lenses. I need to get it out of the closet and get it cleaned, as it was a fantastic camera. I see even today it does a fantastic job!

Nice follow-up D-50 video, keep 'em coming!! Where did you find decent 1 & 2 gb SD cards? Most of the ones I've found online are unbranded though they seem to work OK. Never tried nor have I ever seen a 3gb SD. There has to be other D-50 fans lurking out there, gotta get you up to 1000 subs.

Hi, love your photos they look great!! I also still using an old D200 and D80. Got a 35/1.8 and a 35-70 AF (the good one) and have a lot of fun with this "outdated" stuff.. Another great camera is the Pentax K10d. It shares the same 10mpx CCD-Sensor with the Nikon D80..but the colours are more punchier and the pictures turned out sharp and crisp. If you can get one..try the autofocus if it hits. Greetings from europe

My Nikon D50 is my only digital SLR. I have it from new. I love it. Don't see any need to change it.

@@PinkhatPhotography I might add your video clearly shows an old camera can still produce great results. Did you shoot in auto white balance, manual, 100 ISO? I will look forward to your cell phone photography, I have the Pixel 3A and got it for the camera and computational photography. I was going to get the Pixel 5 because my carrier gave me an exceptional deal. However do to Google becoming 'big brother' and taking Parler off of the play store I wont be supporting them and will be getting a LG V60. When you do the video just remember even if a person has a iPhone, LG, Samsung they can download the Gcam app and have the same options as a Pixel camera. The only downside is it will be a little slower writing the image onto the phone storage compared to a actual Pixel. Best Duane

I was shooting at 200 iso manual mode auto white balance! It took some amazing photos! I'm pretty stoked for the d70 full spectrum video next week to see what people think of that, the photos look really dreamlike

I had so many memories with this camera. I missed it so much that I ordered one from Amazon. This camera was used for many photo shoots and regret ever selling it.

@@PinkhatPhotography haha! Just got a D70s from Amazon. Owned both D50 and D70S when they first came out. I hear a lot that D70 versions can only take up to 2gb cf card. Mine is working with the 8gb card easily!

I can definitely do a street photography video with the d70! The d70 itself doesn't shoot video at all, so it would be recorded with go pros though

No the d50 as the d50 does not have a way to show or broadcast a live view sadly

It really isn't great, iso range is 200-1600 and it gets really noisy at 600ish
