Hey Everyone ! Just a quick video about some tests iv done with the new 15c battery! I'm pretty impressed so far ! as always any questions let me know !

The battery has a labeled 20% more capacity and your expectation is in between 7 and 14% longer recording time. I would say that given possible measurement differences/errors, unknown condition of the cam and the subject / light over time, very low sample size, age/condition of the batteries the result of 23,7% you got is nothings so full of the chart that it should have "caught you off guard", ....

Simple V*Ah=Wh calculation and the "c" has 20% more juice than the "b". 2h47 is 24% more and the 4% is likely due to ageing of the older battery. Still, 1/5th more from the same size/volume package is remarkable.

Hey Ricci One of the frustrating issues I have with the batteries is not battery life, but stand by charge when not in use Often I fully charge the battery and if I haven’t used the camera for a month or so, half the charge has gone I wish this was improved as I have high quality cordless power tools where there is no apparent loss over similar time All the best

Thanks for your informative videos! A quick question about compatibility of the en-el15c battery... The NikonUSA website only lists five cameras that are compatible with the EN-El15C battery, and those listed are Z5, Z7, Z6, D780, and D850. You list the D500, D750, and D7500 as also compatible. Do you happen to have a reference to an official Nikon website that confirms this broader compatibility? I am especially interested in compatibility with the D500 camera body. Thanks in advance. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!

Did you try the 15c in Z6 with it unplugged from the wall charger? Does the battery level drop the same (76%) or does it drop more? Maybe the Z6 cannot fully charge the battery while in use, but if it charges is a little it can then extended the usage even more. For example - my MBP 15 can be powered from an external battery enough that I extend my run time for more than an hour compared to using only MBPs battery.

Are you familiar with the dummy EN-EL15 for running your camera off an AC fed power supply (PSU)? Tether Tools (TT) have an adapter to place in between the dummy and a PSU. That adapter has a rechargeable battery in it. Place dummy, connect TT adapter, start rolling, plug AC into TT adapter continue rolling, unplug AC and hook up a USB power bank to the TT adapter, continue rolling without draining the TT battery. Uninterrupted power supply at its best. Or Buy a Nikon battery grip. Or, I don't understand these complaints about the Z 6 and Z 7

JR Arsenault The question is in reference to recharging the battery while the camera is in use. The A and B batteries will not do this, but the C + the Z5 will. The suggestion to try the B battery will show whether or not recharging while in use is a feature of the C battery or the Z5 camera itself. If it’s the Z5 that is doing this, then there’s little hope for the Z7 and Z6 cameras to have this feature. However, if the B battery doesn’t recharge while in use, then conventional thinking says it’s the C battery and there’s hope this feature will come to the Z7/6 in a firmware update.

Hi all Having begun my Nikon experience on the D7100, then moving to the D750, arriving this year in the D850 - I'm astounded at the short battery life of the D850 compared to the other 2 camera models. I only shoot stills and I am making use of Live View on the D850 but I'm disappointed at the poor battery life performance. I have Wifi off, removed link to Snapbridge and Airplane mode on because power was being lost when the camera was off! However, I could go weeks before having to re-charge the battery for the D7100 & D750 wheras I'm forunate to have a 6 hour shoot (approx 250 photos) using live view (I only have it on when shooting) on the D850. Does anyone else on here have the D850 and have a similar experience of poor battery life? I'm always carrying a spare just in case.
@photonomist6345 Жыл бұрын
I'm really pleased with battery life on my D850. It so depends on what you are doing. I use live view for many things but not necessary for a lot of contexts and sometimes viewfinder distinvt advantage. Also, make sure things like continuous focus are off if you are not using that feature (as for landscapes for example). I can take hundreds of pics and last many hours if I am taking landscapes. With bird photography and a very busy autofocus less time.

Actually depends on whether the USB-C charger used puts out ~18-22W (since the Z7 peaks at 22W using a 15b) whether it be 8v on 2.5/2.7A (PIQ2.0) or 9v on 2A (QC3.0) because then it would gain power over the charger while with less W it would obviously just slowly drain the battery regardless. This is not tested, I do wish @Ricci Talks would be so kind to check the charger he used (If he remembers :P) and if it indeed did use 5V on 2.0/2.5A, if that is the case that means u can charge the Z6/Z7 while in use, using the 15C ;-)
