@Christo Genea I'm talking about the film camera, digital cams are dirt cheap and better quality, plus they can store a lot of pictures that you can instantly see. Plus the expense of processing and printing... The skills required are utterly useless in 2021, the number of photos he will be able to take is a tiny fraction of what he could take with a digital. All his friends will have digital... So the only point of saddling him with that ancient junk for a year would have to be some sort of punishment, no?

I think that is because of frustration. Some cameras involve a trade-off of features due to legitimate costs. A crappy app is basically a sign of piss-poor management decisions. The reviewer seems to get really annoyed by that. I get annoyed by all commercial apps gathering data. The camera should NOT be advertised as having an app available unless you sign a document when you buy the camera whereupon Nikon tells you everything they will do with your data and how much money they expect to make off of your data, even though you are paying them for the camera and app.

Look up something called Photo IQ. In general, the higher the megapixels/better lenses and sensor type. Full frame sensors are better than micro four thirds or apc-s.

Sadly 97% of the reviews of this camera, is based on the video recording. You should try to learn the difference between a photo camera and a video camera. Yes it has an option for recording video, but it is mainly build up as a photo camera. It's like watching a commercial for a new car, but the talk is only about how many beers you can have in the trunk.

You didn't say the picture gets darker on 60fps.

It only gets darker because it needs a different shutter speed. Just push the ISO or use a faster aperture. Daniel
