Another great video Wade. To boot Z8 is now 3K cheaper than the brand new Sony A1/2. No brainer, I love my Z8 and Z6/3

How’s the AF performance between the Z6III and Z8?

I got the Z8 a little under a year ago, it's my first Nikon and probably my favorite camera I have ever had.

I have been using a z6ii. Figured I'd go z6iii but when it was released at the price point it was I decided to grab a very lightly used Z8 for slightly more than I'd pay for the z6iii in my area after taxes etc. Very happy I went Z8. All other benefits aside I am surprised how much better the image quality is- and I never had any complaints about the files coming from the z6ii.

I don't own a Z8 yet, however, I can tell you if you push/pull shadows and highlights more than say 30% in post, the Z6III is a REAL disappointment. I bought one and sent it back. Still have my D810 dinosaur and will - at some point - get the Z8.

Well said. If the A1 II is any indication, we've plateaued tech-wise and all improvements will be incremental improvements for a while which is fine...I've got all I need for a good long time.

Some people still don't realize that the Z8 is a complete body, a true successor to the D850. Those who owns the Z8 will tell you that. It will serve its owner forever. Also, who knows what future firmware updates Nikon will incorporate to the Z8 down the road? perhaps more RED features, which I'm expecting to see. Honestly, all mirrorless bodies across brands are good. We, the consumer are spolied for choice as we know can choose which body fits our budget? Also, lenses too are now more diversified then ever. Nowdays, 3rd party lenses have caught up in terms of quality. The only deficit is us ourselves. Are we knowledgeable enough to master the features in the camera we hold. Great video bro

Personally I’ve been hating seeing all these people say that instead of getting the z76/7ii, they got the z8 because the price was right there… not like it’s about $2,000 more. That’s not just a simple jump or, “Well I was gonna spend $1,900, but decided to go with the $4,000 camera because it was close”…
@ZWadePhoto3 күн бұрын
It depends on what people need/want. If people want to shoot landscapes or stills portraits the Z8 is mega overkill, even for action portraits if you come from the DSLR world the Z7 line is still perfectly fine. But, If people want a camera that meets the industry expectation of what mirrorless camera focus functionality is, the Z7ii will never be there.
@tannerhughes62743 күн бұрын
@ @ I just want to be clear but I really do like both cameras after researching them and trying to decide with one to buy. I just haven’t been liking how comments go from “if I’m already going to spend $1,900, the I might as well spend $4,000” Saying that like it’s a small price difference. I say that because I’ve narrowed it down to the z7ii for me being the one I’m going to buy. So trying to read reviews and people’s comments was frustrating because every other comment was saying if you’re getting the z7ii, then you might as well just get the z8…

nice quick video man.... I am currently rocking the OG z6 and really struggling with either going z63 or z8.. I'm not really a video guy and more concerned about images.. Is it worth the step up in your opinion?
@ZWadePhoto6 күн бұрын
@@mikebrown200004 if you don’t need video, you will like the Z8 even more because one of the few issues that exists is how hot it gets haha. Even less flaws if you’re only into photos
@ZWadePhoto6 күн бұрын
@@mikebrown200004 that aside, I have both, they doth do great. But I have a hard time recommending the Z6iii over the Z8 because the image quality of the Z8 is SO good. The megapixels really do make a difference and on top of that it also performs better at high iso than it should at 45 mp

I made the mistake of getting a Z6iii to partner my Z8. They don't work remotely the same control wise so muscle memory doesn't work and I can't control the focus even closely as easily as the Z8. I just wish they didn't cripple the controls compared to the Z8. Give us "Recall Shooting Functions" and "Cycle AF-area mode".

The Z8 is my backup to the Z9. I'm more likely to take the Z8 for a trip over the Z9 and oddly I miss not using the Z9 when I use the Z8. Cannot explain it but that is the way it goes for me. I intend to keep these cameras for a long time. The cameras deliver what I need, and I am on the decline of having any reason to keep up with the latest camera tech anymore. I hope that I'm using the Z9 like I see people still using the D3 (a 17 year old camera).

Considering switching from A7IV back to Nikon for the Z8 (Z6II previously). Can you speak on the Z8 AF performance relative to the Z6II/Z6III?
@ZWadePhotoКүн бұрын
Absolutely no comparison. The Z8 dominates the Z6ii completely. The Z6iii beats the poo of the Z6ii as well, but isn’t AS good as Z8/Z9. The Z8 focuses in almost complete dark haha
@jordanmartin324Күн бұрын
@ Any idea on the A7IV? I know the higher end Sonys are better (A1/A7RV) but presumably the A7IV isn’t quite to that level so hoping the Z8 is at least on par
