After much wrangling over whether to upgrade to the R5ii, wait for the R7ii or go in a completely different direction by switching to the Z8 with the 180-600 I finally decided to purchase the Nikon. The smoking deals Nikon had on refurbished items gave me a final shove in that direction. Not sure if I’ll keep my R7 - 100-500 combo but if the Nikon works out as well as I hope I will probably sell and add the 800PF to my arsenal. Canons lack of real interest in the novice photographer was part of the reason for the change of direction. Wasn’t interested in the 200-800 and can’t afford a 12k big white so Nikons PF lenses really helped me to make the decision. Thanks for all videos that helped me make my decision.

I just bought the 600 PF myself. Congratulations on your new gear!

@@PhilThach the 600PF was tempting but with the 180-600 covering that range and the 800PF having the same aperature with200mm more focal length I thought the 800 would give me more range without having to add teleconverters. How do you like it compared to the 180-600?
@PhilThach5 күн бұрын
@@JayWeis-g7d it’s smaller and lighter which I like. It is supposed to be even sharper than the 180-600. I have a bluebird photo I made with it that is crazy sharp. I haven’t used it with the Z8 yet. I took it out for its first shoot on the Z50 II. Your logic is sound on the 800 pf and 180-600 combo. I’ve read that the 800pf is not as sharp as the 600 but I’m sure it’s still plenty sharp.

I was literally just doing research on kingfishers this morning. Supposedly someone on ebird said they saw them about 30 minutes from me. I never knew those were in my area. Planning a trip there with my son for next week since I’m off work. Fingers crossed 🤞

I've never seen a kingfisher in real life. Also, a fan of the long exposure shots.

Love to see the birds you have over there. (I'm in the UK.) The little kingfisher was lovely, and the cranes made quite a sight. I really liked your scenery shots too. Interesting and informative video, thank you!

Received an annual letter in our Christmas card from my uncle and aunt and found out that he has been working on his flying bird photography for the past year...did not know he was doing this, most of his stuff had been landscapes when we were in closer contact before we moved, he has "upped" his game. Sent them back a note right away letting them know about your channel and your flying bird photography, I am sure you will have another subscriber soon.

Hi Phil, I love your landscaping pictures. I love the kingfisher, I don't see them very often. What a great place to get pictures.
