I’m from the same town Pam lived in. When I first heard about this case I couldn’t believe it was all going down right in my back yard. The day of the shooting at Pam’s house, my daughter’s high school went on lock down and it was terrifying! I also discovered both women went to my church…they mentioned my pastor in the show! I recognized Betsy but never interacted with either woman. Awesome project, girl! Thanks for sharing!

I started watching the mini series and had to stop, I could just see where it was headed. I couldn’t stomach it. And then you showed up and I knew just what you were talking about. Superb job of telling this story all the while making a book. This, I could digest. This story intrigued me. How do people have the audacity for such crimes? How does law enforcement take on such a simpleton mindset? How often does this happen? Rhetorical questions.

Omg I love that book! I haven’t watch the miniseries yet. I can’t believe how many lazy, corrupt detectives there are. Not saying there aren’t some great ones but I have been watching videos about cases where the investigators are just so incompetent, ugh! Check out the case of Elizabeth Santos in Alaska if you haven’t already….awful.

From what I have read, lately, Missouri has some backassward concepts of what is and is not legal. Thank the powers that be that Russ had that particular attorney! On the white blood cell count, I, too, know what it is like. I have a bone marrow disorder. I was recently hospitalized because my hemoglobin was so low I couldn't breathe! My platelets are currently at 15, where normal is 150. LOL Good one and LOVE THE BOOK! You make it look so easy! Su

Another great craft time mystery with the GOAT of book/junk journal/digitals/course maker! 🥰 this journal you made is so cool. I love the bookmark, genius. This mystery was insane. I was hoping for a great ending and thank goodness Pam is where she belongs. The $150,000 question, I’m curious if the money was ever sent back to Russ. Or whatever was left. She’s such a witch, not helping Betsy’s daughters, evil! I saw the preview of that dark comedy that Renee Zelweger is playing Pam, i had no idea it was based on this real life story. Thanks Rox! There so so much info I had to trim out. The daughters sued Pam to try to get some of the money after she revoked the trust, but the court ruled in favor of PAM!!! if you can believe it! UGH. Maybe because there wasn't concrete proof of what Betsy asked Pam to do with the money? I dunno...she had told investigators in the beginning that Betsy made her the beneficiary so that the girls would have a responsible party looking after their well-being. Guess that wasn't good enough proof for the judge. =/

Good thing new team went in and tried her as who knows what would’ve happened if the old DA was still in office. Thanks for your response I was curious. 🤓😘

I actually live in Troy. It was crazy what was going on. My house burnt down Memorial Day 2012 and my realtor tried to sell me the murder house on Sumac. My friend's sister was the Judge and I knew the prosecutor due to serving on a Grand Jury that year. It seems everyone knows someone involved with this murder in the surrounding area. It was such a tangled web....

this is one of those "need i say more" cases - wow - everything was done so incorrectly - there is so much to say on this one but i won't lol - why the Mom? - i guess Pam didn't want to share her wealth on taking care of her - my goodness - can greed really do this to a person - the lives lost - the time lost - thankfully she will not see the light of day - and for those who worked the case originally should no longer be allowed to work in any type of criminal investigation positions - holy crap - BUT Nik this journal you made is so very lovely - i truly enjoy watching you create - thank you and be well 🤗🥰

Hi Janet! Glad you liked it...or hated it...ya know what I mean. Lol Why the mom? Well...there was a life insurance policy...or course, right?? She told police during an interview right after Betsy was murdered that her mom's policy was for $500K. She used it as a point of innocence, saying "why would I kill my best friend when I get half a million when my mom dies??" Then later she said it wasn't $500K. So, who knows, you can't believe a word out of that woman's mouth.
