Another thing: "How do you deal with excess hydrogen" deserves a master class episode in my opinion. I find this to be the most repeatedly annoying problem and found several solutions, but they all have constraints. I'm interested in your take on that.

Wow! 1. The small logistics turrets look so cute 2. When you showed at the beginning how many machines are needed for this it didn't look like it can fit in the 25 tile width. But of course you made it fit and it's amazing. 3. Only thing I would do differently is to not proliferate the pink crystals production, because proliferating H, especially in such big quantity, just seems silly (if my calculation is correct, 1 proliferated proliferator only gives you 1.25 extra pink crystals) 4. I'm very happy you got back to this game
@Kopczak19952 жыл бұрын
To be honest. I would always proliferate everything either way. Especially stuff that requires those special ores. In this scenario Nilaus didn't use pink ore, but still it's basically free stuff. I saw once a pretty damn big explanation on Reddit why this proliferating is always better than not doing it. With a literal wall of calculations.

Please keep making Dyson sphere program content! I'm on my 1st playthrough and have moved on my planet to a new factory location for 3 builds lol, to reorganize from scratch. I'm about to move again after this video to consider what to include for quantum chips, like your thought process at the start. I was making everything at one location and it was getting very tangled, and blotting out the sky with drones. I at least leave my working base behind each time to import things from them, but at some point I might convert the whole starter planet into oil production, proliferator production, and if course mining and basic refining for all the ores on it. I just got my first automatic production of quantum chips, but I made a large batch of warpers to ship in the rare diffraction crystals from a nearby starsystem for Casimir crystals... but if I'm making more separate factories to keep things organized, it would be better to not waste the rare ore I suppose.

That's a really nice compound build. I like to do those as well where feasible, but in this case I make extra Casimir Crystals when excess hydrogen comes in, so I tend to make those in a separate build. Also, I never knew you could feed belts from boxes with splitters, that use of the new - and extremely useful - logistics station system is neat. Also, I get the idea of using planetary towers here. The idea is to have a central distribution hub on the planet, that's what the interstellar towers are actually for, but my north poles are used by machine supply hubs and my south poles by standardized ray receiver hubs, so I have never found a good location for a resource distribution hub.

Thank you for these videos Nilaus. I follow you in almost all the games you play to get my head around some of the more complex topics that us mere mortals have to battle with haha. I have noticed you use a lot of Interstellar Logistics on the poles and wondering how you are making sure you have enough production in other places to suit multiple planets? I would imagine it would include multiple miner / production planets that are feeding into your Galatic Empire.

Enjoyed the video and reasoning. There might be a different build where the plane filter factories are speedup proliferated instead. At face value it will take more power and resources but does increase production in the same amount of space (which is useful when space becomes limited).

@jgischer2 жыл бұрын
I am loving this, as usual. I do have a very general question. My first cut at the game was that once you had ILS/PLS in production, I just converted everything to a very modular "block" design. My towers would make only one product, and export it to whatever other block needed it. I think Nilaus' first playthrough did that too. But now he is using these more vertically integrated designs. Now, they are a lot less boring than stamping down endless numbers of modules, don't get me wrong. I'm trying to conceptualize what other benefits they might have, though. I think it's clear that there are certain components you never make a block for, and others you do. Do you think this saves on build time? On transport resources? I'm curious.
@Nilaus2 жыл бұрын
I had a look at my old Quantum Chip blueprints for this series and realised that it was 6 modular designs, but I had no idea how many of each would fit together. It makes a lot more sense for me to do it this way because everything is included in the blueprint. If you need more then just add more of these modules, rather than figure out the ration of Frame Material blueprints to Processor blueprints
@Asankeket2 жыл бұрын
I noticed the change too and find it appealing, but I find myself constrained by logistics. You rarely find a system where you can make quantum chips from raw materials without interstellar transports, including proliferation, and I design with the intent of minimizing interstellar transport wherever I can. The integrated builds have the advantage that you don't need to calculate how much of which item goes where, so I have integrated builds for things like turbines, because you only need copper and iron for those and that's available everywhere, and similar items easily made from things usually found together in a system, but stick to block designs for other things. The Casimir Crystals are a special case, because I tend to build them in the same places where I mass-produce graphene, for obvious reasons.
@demiareu8741 Жыл бұрын
@@Asankeket >I noticed the change too and find it appealing, but I find myself constrained by logistics. Early end game issues (mean you just completed your first levels of repeatable techs). Once you hit a deep late game - you're mostly fighting against game performance. In that case importing raw ores is the best solution and "black box" designs are winning by far in terms of UPS. Currently seems that Nilaus himself either have a VERY powerful CPU (much better then most and most of DSP players) or still have a relatively small factory and don't suffer from lack of UPS (yet). That's why he's using in mass forbidden items like spiltters/pillers, building a solar rings on throw-away-mining colonies and doing other UPS-killing things.

I said this on an old video but it would really help learning if you left all your older blueprints up too. I'm talking like... I was following along your Lets Play and a lot of the early blueprints are gone because you've upgraded them obv as you progressed.
