Year ago, I know a family took the pet iguana to the everglades and released it, said got to big for the tank and didn't want to harm it. How nice. Like lionfish got to big for the tank, it was eating everything, what do the stupid people think it will do in the ocean. I've killed a lot of them, but I think it's to late.

possibly. they have found four nile crocs, but I havent seen any confirmed cases since 2014..... having said that, one of those four that they collected, was a new hatchling, so you could assume that hatchling came from a breeding pair of nile crocs, not to mention, that hatchling would have been one of a dozen or so.... however, is it possible for american crocs and nile crocs to breed? I dont know. if not, it means there was/is one breeding pair of nile crocodiles 10 years ago... so by now, you would think there would be more, and more confirmed cases but there hasnt been.

@jimz17572 жыл бұрын
You fools need to stop saying "people released them when they got to big to care for." Nile Crocs cost over $2k for a hatchling and the price goes up as they get larger. These are investments. However any larger animal park in Florida does have a few at least. Some people specialize in them. However hurricanes and flooding do cause these animals to get loose. it just happens. There are many parks with indo pacific crocs (salties) that I am sure have escaped in the past also. these animals live upwards of 100 years. So imagine crocs that got loose in the late 70's when many of which were undocumented and unregulated. You can only imagine what lurks out in the glades. Just like officials say Florida is to warm for White sharks but tagged individuals show it's their winter homestead when northern waters get to cold.
@Blaze6432 Жыл бұрын
If you can't 100% full proof your exotic pets from going into the wild you shouldn't be allowed them in the first place. Nothing just happens, if you live in a place where natural disasters happen don't try to own exotic pets.
@Seven_Leaf Жыл бұрын
Not back in the 80s and before, it takes a while before a croc reaches that size. Things were cheaper and less regulated then, I bet you could get one for 50-100 bucks under the table if you knew the right people. Agreed though, I doubt there were many novelty pets of that sort still around by the late 90s that people would just release and not take somewhere. And they will be extremely rare even if they do exist for a while, not many make it to adulthood if they do find a partner to breed.
