I'd have just wiredthem directly into my running lights, so when you're lights are on your bed is illuminated - much easier then fishing the wiring all the way up front

That's good and all until you are running out to get something from your bed and you need light but your truck is not running. Also if your bed is constantly illuminated when you drive at night you are seriously running down the LEDs lifespan. Putting in the little bit of extra effort for a more quality outcome goes a long way.

I know this is old. But when it was originally connected, where did the white wire with tan line go? It was re-routed to the bed lights but what did you do with the other half of the line?

This continues to your cargo lamp (white light on the third break light that comes on when the doors are open or you hit unlock on the key fob). I spliced the wire in to this cargo lamp wire so it still could feed the cargo lamp and the bed lights at the same time.

I don't know which wire exactly but if you pull the third break light and see which wire if feeding it, you can then go find it in the wire in the driver door sill and tap into it.

At 11:03 minutes you say “this is” while touching the wire hanging down but then the video skips and starts talking about the wire going to the cargo light. What’s the hanging wire? And how did you find out which cable runs to the cargo light? did you pull another wire all the way up to the cargo light?

Yes sorry editing mishap. The wire I was holding was the one I spliced into the cargo lamp wire at the door sill location. I then ran that wire to the relay. I found the cargo lamp wire by looking at the wire feeding the cargo lamp at the lamp itself. I then went and found it in the door sill. I did not pull a wire up to the cargo lamp.

when you turn on the bed light does that turn on your regular light and also these?

These are wired to the cargo lamp. It only turns on with that. I didn't add a second source to just the bed lights.

Explain the fuse thing you put under the seat. It doesn’t connect to anything it’s just some sort of junction for the power ?

The fuze acts as a switch. Instead of you physically toggling a button it uses a power source to activate it. Basically its so you are not drawing too much power from what is activating the light.

@@teabee44 still working just fine, only had issues with the wire I connected to the frame rotting due to salt exposure. Other than that no complaints!

I put these on and ordered the same relay you have and mine won’t come in they just flicker

Sounds like a bad connection. I would start checking that. Could also be a bad relay.
