MTV used to play this ALL the time...I mean it was in HEAVY rotation...getting really into him as a guitar player right now and had to revisit this!!

I played this all the time back in the mid '80s on my college radio station. I couldn't play a lot of major label stuff but I made an exception for this and a few others.

Sick! He can sing, he can play the guitar... and he can even do flips and breakdance. Just wow.

My dad is a former gymnast, and he loved watching Nils do his moves. Of course, he and I both also appreciate the music. Aside from the Springsteen shows I went to, I saw Nils in an accoustic show around 1986 at a club in Dallas. Outside the club two young ladies tried to speak Swedish to him. He brought a chair outside the back of the club after the show and sat and talked to fans and signed autographs for a while. It was great.

Cool thing about this song is, it's only 3 mins, but it feels like it's 5 mins, I have never played this song for anyone who wanted to fast forward it while playing.....Fantastic song.

The flips are authentic. He is an accomplished gymnast. Used to turn flips off a little trampoline during his own live shows. Age prevents him now

Yep, this song is as good as I remember it, listening on DC101. Nils was a well known musician in our area. I later saw him in concert as part of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, replacing Little Steven for the Born in the USA tour. He was doing back flips on a mini trampoline while playing. Pretty freekin cool! Turns out he was a gymnast in high school.

I can't deny Bruce's place in American rock history, but overall I find his music mostly pedestrian, with a few really fine songs. Thankfully for him and the E St. Band, my opinion don't mean shit! As far as Nils is concerned, I wish he'd stayed solo or formed a more exciting band, but once again, the Bruce Springsteen Machine rumbles on...and nobody's holding a gun to Nils' head, so clearly he is a happy camper.

@concertboppermc35218 жыл бұрын
+Jimmy Snaggles this one is actually reminiscent of Bruce's "Glory Days" -era sound & story style, thought it predates current long-running Nils in E Street sojourn. maybe that's part of the reason for Bruce's subsequent invitation....

@sallyforth363111 жыл бұрын
I stand by statement, Springsteen is too liberal for my tastes & his shows imo, are about him, not to mention, he cheated on his wife. I take a mans' character over his stardom anyday. Yes I do believe Lofgren is far more talented than "the boss". Thank God in America one can still give their opinion, doesn't make me right but it doesn't make me wrong either....as well let us not forget Nils had two hip replacements, maybe that make his quadruple hip eh?
@TitusAndronicusTheBand2 ай бұрын
Yo FUCK THIS being the top voted comment on this incredible song - what does Bruce being “too liberal” have to do with this 80s solo Nils classic? I’ll make no comment on Bruce’s politics one way or another because this is no place for such agitation. Shame on you for bringing that bullshit in here, Nils and the song deserve better!!
