Nimble Classes! - A Fast, Tactical, 5e DnD Compatible, RPG

Honestly, THIS is what the next real edition of D&D is for me. The preview they dropped is 1000% better, and shows was a real modern version of D&D should look like. This looks like it would play butter smooth.

To be fair Nimble is quite a small crowdfunding campaign compared to something like current the Cosmere RPG or the Avatar RPG some while ago. That being said, I REALLY like this.

I got one player who strangely doesn't understand why I am abandoning 5e... while also checking all the boxes why our table is abandoning 5e. He's a close friend of mine, but leaving something SO familiar to all of us is not always easy. Heck. I just finished running a 5e game and it still felt so familiar, even without really caring for the system. The system HAS many good points. But 5e core mechanics really need to be reworked from the root, not just rewording the minute issue within the classes. Which Nimble seems to be doing extraordinarily. I just can't wait to read the full book in a few days. The limited spells might be the one potential "turn-off" I anticipate in my transition from 5e.

I'm new to dming, could someone advise me, do you think lvl 2 of "the cheat" would be an interesting homebrew feat for DnD or would it be overpowered?

With respect, I would say, if you are new to DMing and unsure of the balance, then maybe you should wait to create homebrew stuff. Your players don't really need more options than what is already officially available. But if you did pick this as a whole feat, I'd say it's fine, unless a rogue picks it because this would step over Cunning Action territory for the most part. My other point would be that hiding is a shit mechanic in 5e. If you are a new DM, I'd suggest running "theoretical" usages by yourself because players will ALWAYS think stealth is more useful than the actual mechanics allow. That's why I have a page explaining how stealth works in my homebrew book. It's not even a homebrew ruling, just clarifying the shit out of it. Stealth in combat is really bad/weird, which is absolutely fair. You don't get to shoot an arrow at a goblin for him to turn back and forget the arrow was ever shot...

Really love what I see from this... But I am pessimistic for reaching the 250k mark to get the character builder. Man, we need that ease of use tool to make sure this doesn't die in it's first year.
