This is the full audio of Nina Simone's extended live rendition of "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free," performed at the Westbury Music Fair of April 7, 1968. This performance was a part of the Emmy nominated 1970 TV special "An Historical Perspective" that featured interviews with Nina and performances at Westbury Music Fair, The Village Gate and other locations between 1968 and 1969. The entire documentary is available on Vimeo, Google Video and DVD. .. This particular version of "I Wish I Knew How It Feels To Be Free" was performed at the Westbury Music Fair of April 7, 1968. It is not officially available in any capacity except as part of the DVD --- which you can now buy as part of Sony's CD/DVD collection "To Be Free: The Nina Simone Story." Here is my post of the song along with more of the dialogue included on the "Historical Perspective" documentary... There used to be a full version with audio and video from the doc, but it got taken down for copyright issues. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pILUaZd9lLd-jtU

Swear 4m on (the part from the doc) is the best. Nina & band get so loose & her lyrics which feel freestyled are so jaw dropping an hit me in the soul. Plus evweyone joining in singing I love this version. Whole version of this uses to be on a website I doubt is still around. If I find it I'll post but swear was up for a few yrs. It was on a weird website that also did long newspaper like reviews to whatever post was
