Gaming retopolgy? For `Architecture visualization` I doubt would use this method, because this consumes a lot of time. 3Ds Max offers way more simple because you can create pedestrians using a `single spline line` and make them appear as a rectangular polygon. If you prefer more detail you create a `spline line` along the pedestrian, and using the `Modifier` list `Sweep`, and using the edit object to create the surface along the pedestrian. (Sorry I can`t really explain this in English, I hope you understand)

She click `Connect` system in `Edit Edges` in the right panel. This only applied in `Editable Poly` objects. You need to click the triangle (Line) in the Selection, and click 2 line in the polygon surface of the objects, to make the new line appear in the between. This system is very limited and not always appear what you want, because depending on your repotology build to make this happens. You can`t see what she click, because I think she used short cut button. (Sorry, I hope you understand)
