It reminds me of the feeling I used to get when I was a 9 or 10 waking up from a nap right as the sun started setting and being alone in my room. Can’t tell if neutral feeling or start of depression smh

You put into words the exact feeling that I failed to have the courage to describe all these years. A feeling deep within the guts and bones, haven’t felt that specific feeling in a long time, and music with this certain timbre seems to evoke it somehow.

I honestly think "14 Cornish Spreek5b [St. Nectan S Glen Waterfalls Mix]" is one of the most beautiful pieces of music he has ever composed. I feel like the polytonality of the melodies is hauntingly beautiful in its execution, and the feel of the drum pattern gives it a bit of complexity, but still quite simple. Unlike most of his music in this mechanical computerized sound, where the drum patterns are usually the most complex parts of the music, I feel like the melodies in this particular track are where his complexity shines. Just an amazing track. It really surprises me that pieces like this would never be released until he decided (against his record label) to say "fuck it" and just drop it all on a soundcloud for the hell of it to no advertisement. Really an enigmatic man.
@ZanyProds2 жыл бұрын
I couldn't have said it any better. He is a very enigmatic person. Aphex Twin, the legend of electronic rhythms.
@cHall-kb6yc2 жыл бұрын

@YoungSantasGroupie2 жыл бұрын
Yeah dude, I feel that. The melody is exquisite, it can play forever. And that sort of “theremin-like” synth just before the 2 minute mark absolutely melts me. They should have this song on loop, or an aphex twin mix, broadcasting out into the universe for whatever sentient beings might be somewhere listening. In the past, with like, sending things on plaques on spacecraft, I think they’ve picked a classical piece, like Mozart or Beethoven. But some those pieces are kinda martial and pompous. I’d rather take our luck with some blissed out Aphex, y’know?
@workpine91952 жыл бұрын
I had no idea this was polytonal, I felt really honest and beautiful melodies just giving love, I'm disassociating what is happening with my mind, even sometimes I don't recognize in what tuning system is anything, I have immunity to dissonance now? At least I feel so much emotions with melodies, the rhythmic, I'm just so over exposed to extreme rhythmic ideas that I cannot explain the level of complexity
@yarnf2 жыл бұрын
@@workpine9195 I don't think theres anything polytonal about this track, its all just in A# major

I have been listening to aphex twin since I was fifteen in 1995 , I am still amazed at the different combinations of sound he can create he is the electronic equivalent of Bach or Handel . Their is also encoded in the music pictures and films of such elaborate and devious nature's for anyone with a opened eye to view. He offer's a psychic window into his obscure mind for the listener to spy
@M05tly2 жыл бұрын
Same. From the first album I heard of his, with didgeridoo, I was totally hooked. Haven't ever heard anyone like him, definitely on a par with the revered musical masters of the past. Aside from his expertly chosen rhythms and compositions it is almost as if he has invented his own musical scale. Without a doubt a genius, his pure enjoyment of the making of music is clear in his work also.
@flashypork9 күн бұрын
Nice, I have been comparing him to Bach for a long time. It's really no exaggeration to say that he's a world-historical level of musical genius. The variety, quality, and sheer volume of work is unmatched by all but the greatest musical minds in history, and if there's any justice in this world he will still be listened to 200 years from now

In the world of overstuffing of self and greed, RDJ stands out in atleast a few ways. One of which is the sheer volume of material he released on SoundCloud so that we could all have it and understatedly enjoy it is testament to what he holds dear, which is not profiting off of his fans. I would've paid for this stuff, as many of you likely would've, but it was a given not sold...(Very Rare?... I'd say so ..) He is unrivaled in his musical creativity and form and his music causes utter bliss and gratitude for being incarnate on earth right now to experience it. With everything I've got, Thank You RDJ.
