Ninja 250 Ignition Delete

Was up man I have 08 Ninja ex250. I'm installing a remote start. My question I seem to get all the wires that I need. The remote start turns on all the ignition and starter, but the starter turns but the bike doesn't. Now in the ignition there's this wire that seems to have a resistance. Thats the only wire that didn't connect. I bypassed it and still doesn't turn on. If it has a resistor do you know it?

All good and somewhat alright explained ..but can you start yhe bike wiyh that harness you bought so we can see it works..as I have 2 2010 Ninjas with starting issues and both I traced to ignition problems..online no one can give you an exact diagram to D.I.Y theat harness..so start yhe bike for us other guys.

I used a hacksaw to cut slots in the anti-tamper bolts. Much easier and safer than drilling

It's simple, forget about buying any wiring harness, and no drilling on the two ignition housing bolts, leave them alone. 1)Take a grinder and grind the piece of metal flat that the lock pin on the bottom of the ignition catches on and prevents the forks from turning . 2)trace wiring harness from ignition to connector 3) at connector locate white/green wire and there should be a brown wire outside of the connector connected to itself by bullet connectors. 4) cross the brown and white/green with a jumper wire and your ignition will be on, and yes you can hook a switch up in between those two wires so you aren't wrapping the wires around each other each time

What year bike.is your bike trying to do this on a 06 ex 250 an they have different type plug ins your is probably a 7 prong mine is a 8

Would also love to have the link. Can you leave the triple on if you want to leave the ignition lock (decorative purposes) in place and be able to bypass the standard ignition and still utilize the start stop button?

Yeah you can totally leave the ignition in and still "eliminate" the need for a key. Thanks for your info. It is necessary to drill out those 2 security holes to complete this procedure? Yes, I live in a rural area and have no need for the security features of a locking ignition.

It's my bike but it was stolen and after the police recovered it i saw that the guy used a screwdriver to Jimmy the lock and I'm looking for alternatives cheaper then replacing the ignition.

No worries. I would advise you to keep in mind that this removes the ability to lock the steering, but it sounds like somebody has already done that for you.

thanks for the link, one other question do you turn signal still work with this mod?

It's a race bike so I can't confirm but there's no reason it would cause the signals to stop working. If you have a street bike I don't know why you'd want to make your bike start without a key; unless it's not your bike...

@@maxreissig2807 i actually got my cousins bike that he had before I moved away from My grandmother. He lost the key a long time ago, so I am bypassing the ignition on it rather can having a key cut. So there are circumstances why you may want to do this.

Yeah the steering no longer locks I am able to start it but I'm tried of looking at the mess the guy did. I lock my bike with a logger chain through the wheels now when I stop to eat but the rest of time it's locked in my buddy's garage...side note karma was great the police recovered the bike after the guy ran from them laid it down and broke his leg in 3 places. it did fairing damage buts that ok the bike is now being modded into a street warrior

don't you need a 100 ohm resistor

I haven't had to install anything else for this to work. No resistor required.

I recall someone on Ninjette saying you needed a 1,000 Ω resistor but I guess not.
