Careful! You should never touch the positive, red (+), terminal with the negative, black (-), terminal connected! This is because having negative connected grounds the frame. That means everything around the positive terminal can short through your screwdriver or wrench, making your tool red-hot and welding it to the frame! Always disconnect negative first and always reconnect positive first. This will ensure you can’t short positive to chassis ground while disconnecting or connecting it.

Careful! Your chassis was grounded when you were working on the red positive (+) terminal. You are very lucky! Always disconnect the black negative (-) terminal first and connect negative last to avoid shorting through your tool. This way there is no ground connection through the frame or anything else when working on the positive terminal. If you touch the frame while turning the positive screw while negative is connected your tool will get red hot and weld itself to the frame!

Took me about an hour because I'm using non-OEM part (most of the time figuring out how to re-route the cable😅 ). If use the original relay I'm pretty sure it would be less than 30 minutes

So if my bike it’s not coming on at all I got 300 kawasaki ninja I changed battery still nothing I even checked fuses they god in fuse box would it be starter relay or stator rectifier

Easy. Used multimeter or touch bulb to the relay socket. If there is power when we push switch then it is relay.

Hey man , my 250R making a weird loud buzz noise , but if it managed to start when pushing the bike and changed the gear , could it be the battery issue ? Or is it the relay problem? It happens to me twice this time , the second time in heavy rain, God knows how hard I want to kick myself hahah

Most probably the relay or battery. Try to jump start using other bike or car. If it can start without issue, then the battery need replacement. If still unable to start, most likely the relay is the problem. Good luck bro!

I’ve just recently got a fuel injected 2009 model of the ninja 250r and I’m having trouble starting her up, she cranks over but dies instantly, everything has been taken apart and cleaned and put back together properly but me and a friend of mine cannot figure out for the life of us why she won’t start, everything in theory says she should start, fuel, air and spark but theory and practicality are two very different matters, if any one has had this problem too… message back I’m desperate to get off my crappy 125

by ".. dies instantly" did you mean she did start (she's burning fuel) and died after that? ever try to check the ecu? I've never faced this issue so far.

@@thefatt1988 yeah she turns over, gives one rev when she's cold and when she's warming up we can get 2 or 3 revs but then dies, is there a specialist part needed to check the ECU cause that's sounds like a pricey procedure if you go to a mechanic

Don’t understand why you took out the battery on the first part of the video when you change the starter relay, you can change it without taking out the battery,

hey my bike can be jumped but just cannot start with the button. could it still be the relay or more likely the actual starter?

If you can use a jumper cable to start it using other bike battery, more likely the battery is out. Happen to me a few times.

@@thefatt1988 I’m having the same problem but my bike won’t make a peep when I press the ignition I changed out the battery and still no solution my next step is to mess with the starter but I have a ninja 250 don’t know much about it might take it to a shop

@@OGMochaHD Since you've changed the battery, I would have think either the kill switch or just the fuse is the issue.
