I have both a Ninja 12" pan and the 12" Professional Blue Diamond Stainless steel pan. Both are induction compatible. The Ninja pan takes forever to heat on an induction element because it uses the cheap pitted magnetic bottom. The Blue Diamond solid stainless steel heats up really quickly and has better temperature control. I recommend the Blue Diamond rather than the Ninja if you have an induction stove.

AFAICT the Ninja pan is the " Second Coming " of Calphalon One . It sacrifices some non-stick capability for durability and heat tolerance . If you pre-heat it properly ( 5 minutes on an electric burner ) , clean it with gentle scrub pads , let it cool completely before cleaning , NEVER use cooking spray and avoid burning your food-----these pans will be great . I own one and I have tried it . Unrealistic tests prove little ; I don't burn marshmallows or melt lollypops or sand my pans with 220 grit or shoot .44 magnum bullets into them so whether they pass such tests is unimportant to me . We need tests that measure even heating, damage from dropping on floors, damage from incidental contact with metal utensils , handle coolness, handle sturdiness and handle riveting . The Ninja is worth the money IMHO .
@shamsfarra76683 жыл бұрын
I agree Ninja is a great pan and doesn’t need harsh scrubbing or sandpaper and really worth the price .

I think the Blue Diamond pan did better overall. I thought for sure you'd only give the Ninja pan 2 stars! "Never stick"? It all stuck! While things did stick to the Blue Diamond pan, it was after you'd scratched it up, and, even then, stuff came out a lot easier up front. I do like Shark/Ninja products, but that pan does not live up to the claims and is certainly not worth the price!

Thank you Vivian you just saved me $40! By the way, if you REALLY want a "lifetime" pan that you can use and give to your grandchildren, then you get yourself an old-fashioned cast-iron pan. If you search a few videos you'll find a good way to "Recondition" and "Season" it, basically you put it in an oven for 30 minutes to open the pores, then you brush on some lard, and then bake it for 5 hours, and it comes out absolutely looking brand new. It even has "some" non-stick qualities. But yeah that's a lot of work, and they are heavy.

Thanks for your video. My wife replaced her 50-year-old cookware with the Ninja. She loves it. Before you cook, preheat the pan. For food not to stick, the pan should be 350 degrees. At 350, the eggs slid right off.

Thank you for including an induction burner comparison. Last week I acquired a Rosewill dual induction device. All the pans I have are ancient aluminum no stick crap that was in the not quite bad enough to throw away but not really worth using. Dailly cooking has been in an electric non stick skillet. I saw an ad for blue diamond and was curious. The liturature says induction ready. But, that would seem a fail. I guess I will have to put it in service using great grandmothers castiron skillets, they went through the old west, I guess they can make it through the new test. Thanks again for showing blue diamond in fact did not function with the induction magnetic field.

Secondly when tested they definitely DO NOT use that heavy sandpaper on them. They use a non stick scouring pad. These pans are the best on the market. Your review is rubbish.
