PS - saw John's additional comments on the salt content. Agree that salt amounts should be lessened. Also, we have the 8qt Ninja Deluxe. Careful with the broil as the default is 450 degrees. Broiling at this temp for 12 minutes can burn your broccoli and dry out the chicken breasts.

Since I stopped using salt years ago, I would have to cut back on all of the seasonings. I haven't raised a salt shaker in over 40 years. Used to love it on everything from green apples to green peppers. But, not any more. Table salt isn't the healthiest thing for you. Everything tastes salty to me now, without even adding salt. Plus, roasted Broccoli has to be the best way to cook it! Looking forward to more videos. Since St. Patricks day is coming, how about some Corned beef and Cabbage?

I followed this recipe to the letter and I tossed everything. First of all, I agree with a lot of people that said it was too salty. But that can be fixed. Mine was overcooked on everything. The broccoli was fried to a crisp, the rice was hard and clumpy and the chicken was dry as a bone (and I use a temp probe to check proper temp). I don't understand why mine was so horrible. Way, way different than what John did in the video. Even if I minimized the salt, not sure how to fix everything else.
@elizabethshaw7345 жыл бұрын
160 is overcooked. Do to carry over cooking it's going to be dry at least in a regular oven. If you pull it at 160 it's still going to carry over cook for another 10 minutes because it will carry over for 15 minutes.

Hello I tried the recipe and my broccoli turned out over crisped as well as the rice. Any ideas why this may have happened?
@JohnSanders6 жыл бұрын
I think broccoli cooks a little different every time, like many items some are fresher than others and things like the water content each batch has is different...Not much but a little so you really have to watch them near the end, the rice is also affected by the water content in the other items in the pot so this is a variable also...Not trying to sound so scientific but I really think all of this plays a role...were you able to eat yours?

The cooking time was way too long, and the chicken turned out dry. I have a new 8 quart Foodi. Maybe that's the reason. Also, the rice had a crust on it. I think it's because I didn't add broccoli (I steamed it separately), which I think acts as insultation for the rice. Lasltly, the teriyaki sauce alone does not provide enough flavor for the chicken. It's like an Americanized version of Asian food.
