A high-speed blender is probably one of the most valuable things you can have in your kitchen as a vegan, so we decided to test how the Ninja Blender (a lower price blender) compares to the Vitamix Blender (a higher end blender).

*I had one of these before and it lasted many years and I used it a lot. It blends **MyBest.Kitchen** chops ,grates. Does most anything you would want to use it for. A lot of bang for your buck. A litlle loud however it so fast it is not bothersome.*

I am in need for a blender, I primarily use a blender for making sauces, emulsifyling foods, smoothies, making my own ginger and garlic paste etc. I saw a Ninja chef on the market, that comes with a tamper. The blade is not the same as other Ninjas. Would this kind work better?

I have a Ninja with the food processor, big giant container thing, and three smaller cup sizes. I NEVER use the big cup or food processor anymore bc the blades suck with smaller portions, but I use at least one of the other cups daily and it works fabulously.

Exactly! The smaller cups for the ninja are amazing! Who ever needs to blend than much at once anyways, haha.

Glad it helped. We only put it through some basic tests but agreed that the Ninja is a great starter blender, but that the Vitamix is also a great investment because of what it can do and how long it lasts.

I've had a "professional" series Ninja combo system for at *least* 6 years. I use it daily for making a bulletproof-ish coffee. Yes - hot coffee. In the personal cup. It's awesome. Beyond that I've used the blender pitcher for smoothies, alcoholic beverages, and fruit and veg mixes to dehydrate into toddler snacks. The processor is a champ. Done homemade mayo (easier in a mason jar with a stick blender btw), flours, doughs, coconut butter.. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot. It is definitely one of my favorite kitchen tools to use. I haven't really found much it cannot do. Only a few gripes: -The smoothie/personal cup can be annoying to blend with unless you've got plenty of liquid. Otherwise, there's lots of shaking/banging it down to the blades or opening a messy container to add liquid. -The pitcher blades are scary AF. You WILL cut yourself if you're not careful. Do not leave any ninja blades in a tub of soapy water. You don't want to grab those on accident. I wash mine in the dishwasher, UNDER the overturned pitcher for safety. -No matter how long I blend greens in the Ninja, it NEVER makes them disappear into the mix entirely. And the texture just has a tiny bit to be desired. So.. I broke down and bought a used Vitamix A3500 base off eBay and a steel pitcher from Costco. We'll see how that goes, but I have a feeling I'll be selling the Ninja eventually. Maybe.

I have a Vitamix and it is excellent for everything. It's also big and I have limited counter space, so I keep it in the pantry. I blow it off a lot because I don't feel like lugging it out and clearing a space to use it. I also have a first generation ninja that came with a blender and a small food processor which I managed to melt and ruin on the stove top. So, my ninja blender is a dedicated margarita maker 😃. What I really love/loved is my NutriBullet. I just burned up the motor of my third one, but it's size is/was so convenient that it was my go to for everything. I've used it for smoothies, nut butter, hummus, pesto, salad dressings, salsa, grind grains into flour etc., and it's small enough to fit in the cupboard. And the containers come with lids. Definitely getting another one really soon.

Have had the NutriBullet before as well and loved it when I had it. Would never give up, my Vitamix I use it everyday, but totally understand the lugging it out pain. It's the main reason I don't use it more often.

I have the ninja (the combo pack one). We've had it 4 or 5 years, and I can tell it's starting to burn out cuz it's started having issues lately :( When it was newer, it made super yummy cashew cream sauces though, as long as you scraped down the sides frequently ^_^

Exactly, we found the ninja just needed a few more stop and scraps but it did pretty well. Glad to hear the length of life prediction is what we thought. I've had my Vitamix for about 3 years now and it is showing no signs of slowing down haha, still like brand new.

I had a Ninja, it made it 3 years before it crapped out. Very time consuming to repair, and never worked as well as my Vitamix 5200, which I've had for decades and is good as new. The Ninja may be cheaper for the initial purchase, but the Vitamix will absolutely save you money in the long run as well as keep more waste out of our landfills.

I bought an Oster 1200 watt blender. I spent around $100. I'm happy with the price tag and the performance. I know that a Vitamix is probably a lot better, but like the Ninja, it does the job, it just takes a few seconds longer.

When I make a smoothie in the large blender (Ninja) it does leave chunks. However, when I use the single serve cup the blend is very smooth. For the amount I'm saving, I will use a two step process when I make a large batch. I store the the larger batch and re-blend in the single serve. Delicious. Go Ninja,

I just bought a Vitamix and I have a bunch of info! As of today, November 15, 2017 Brand new Vitamix has a 7 year Warranty. Reconditioned 5300 has a 5 year warranty. Every now and then (for special occasions) their website offers 90$ CAD off this reconditioned 5300 model. The 5300 is a model made for Costco and a couple other big chains, but is not sold in any other store. In Montreal it retails at 499.99$ CAD at Costco. And from what I've seen last month, the model equivalent to it would be the 7500 and this one is 640$ CAD on the Vitamix Website. I've seen a video from Life Is NOYOKE testing the Ninja and Vitamix side by side doing a Green smoothie, and with the same blending time, the Ninja's tasted like salad and the Vitamix' tasted like candy (their words). This is one of the reasons why I went with Vitamix, but I was indeed very tempted by the food processor attachment of the Ninja.

Denise Jenkins the reconditioned 5300 fro the website cost me 413$ CAD tax and shipping included, which is even cheaper the the shelf price from Costco! Check on the Vitamix website if they have the 90$ CAD off offer still available it'll save you lots!

I think it comes down to us deciding what results we want as the CONSUMER. If you’ve got a sweet tooth for ice cream and can’t find dairy-free ice cream where you live, then a Vitamix is a good investment to make vegan ice cream for the extreme creamy finish at cold temperature. You push the button and presto. For the Ninja, I think (since I have neither but I’m still searching for reviews) that it’s better if you love to be experimental and want to have full control. I also think that both are similar products with different target population priorities. Of course any company aims to appeal to everyone as much as possible but I think their base target populations are different. It comes down to us figuring out what we want. I used to have a magic bullet. It worked alright, but it would always need to go on its break because it would overheat easily and would automatically stop until it cooled down, then I could continue working. A bit of a challenge but a lesson was extracted. I think we should worry less about if it’s worth the investment or not because if the product doesn’t work too well for us, there’s always secondhand selling so why not. Thank you ladies for the reviews and displaying the results you’ve had from both products! It has helped me!

Ninja is a real time waster. I have one with the regular pitcher, food processor attachment and smoothie cup attachments. I bought the ninja set for nearly $200 (bought it at BJs wholesale). I wanna say I've had it for 5 or 6 years? The best part about it is the smoothie attachment. Because using the big pitcher or food processor is just a hassle. Scraping the sides down constantly or adding more liquid than I would prefer....then having to transfer to the smoothie attachment in separate batches. Just save up your money at get a refurbished Vitamix. I finally ordered one last night and I'm super excited to receive it!

I used my cousin's Ninja when I was staying with her last year and found that it took a lonnnnng time to actually make hummus, and it always left chickpeas unblended. I had been thinking about buying, but decided against it because of that. Have you tried using your Vitamix for hummus? I will admit that I am a born Vitamix girl, literally! My mom had a Vitamix 40 years ago back when before the tamper, and before it was fashionable to have a $400 blender in your home. I actually *still* have her over Vitamix and it works, but it isn't nearly as good, and overheats now, probably due to age. I would have loved to see y'all do the "strain test" for all the liquids you made. Thank you for this video though. I have two cheap blenders, and ironically, my $30 Walmart Special works better on sauces than the Kitchen Aid my cousin gave me as a hand me down when she got her Ninja. She loves her Ninja BTW, and swears by it. After using it for 6 months, I am not sold, and will for sure be getting a Vitamix.
