Holy COW! Or should I say, pig. I just made probably the best ribs I’ve ever cooked and maybe the best I’ve ever eaten using this method. This Ninja Woodfire grill kicks ass.

I don't have the xl...but I managed to fit 2 racks on mine. Just barely fit. Love your channel CJ. It's my. go to when I'm ready to cook. One question. I don't have e a spray bottle. Can I use spray butter?

Man those look good. Watching these reminds me how much it sucks to be diabetic. Sugar free rubs and sauce just can't cut it so I stick with a lot of the really spicy rubs and sauces that are either low or no sugar.

Wow - those baby back ribs look delicious! - harder to do 1 rack on the original WFG due to the height of a rack of baby back ribs as the clearance isn't as high as the Pro Connect XL.

@@donakin8562 ranked up with the best ribs I’ve ever had. I did do 5 hours at 200, every 30 I sprayed them with apple cider apple juice mix. Then cranked it to 250 to hit the 205 which took about 15 minutes (was at 190 after 5 hours). Then basted them with heb bbq sauce for another 5 minutes. Tasty

Thanks for stating how long it took you to cook them! I know it's an approximate and different for everyone but I was going to make them for my kids tonite and thought they'd take 2 hours. Now that I know they take approximately 4+ hours I'll have to make them another day. No way I could make them today because they'd be done after their bedtime. lol

Is there any trick to the temp probe placement, you went from the end -“across the bones,” are you touching bones, or trying not to?

You want it in the thickest part of the flesh. Bones conduct heat, so you do not want it to touch the bones.

Cast iron is a lot more durable. It just depends on how much you’re planning on using it.

Not sure about you, but, my pro XL thermometer is not very accurate. At 225 my ribs said 130 after a half an hour.

Is that the XL or standard woodfire? Ive convinced myself to buy one, just not sure which size to go for. Instinct is to get the larger one to be safe but 2 racks of ribs should be fine i would imagine

Hey CJ, I tried making these yesterday but they didn't turn out like yours. When you cut into yours, the meat looks really tight. When I cut into mine, they fell apart like pulled pork would. They reached 200° right at the 4.5 hour mark just like yours. I sprayed them with water at 2 hours and then every hour after that. Can you think of any reason why my ribs didn't turn out like yours?

@@MarthaRafesit’s cooking? You’re just not getting anymore smoke. The pellets are just for the flavor, not any of the cooking. You can add more pellets if you want. But usually you’ll find one cup is enough.

No just for 45 min to an hour. The rest of the time you’re just cooking the ribs

Do you think the ribs could get "fall off the bone" without wrapping? I know many like the bite and consider fall off the bone, overcooked, but that's not for me. 🤷‍♀

It would be tough to keep them moist and fall off the bone without wrapping. But it would just be cooking them to like 210-215 internal.

Yes you can. Every grill is different, it take a minute to get yours dailed in.

Try to lower the temp and cook a bit longer. And braise them in the wrap longer.

Great video, CJ! A general question about the woodfire/woodfire XL-- when you burn off the first cup of pellets, is it safe for the system to continue cooking? It looked like you continued to let it run with no pellets in the pellets in the box.

I just cooked some ribs. Ninja WFG, not the XL. Followed the method in this video, and mine were done way fast! They were done in an hour and 45 mins. Seems too fast to me, we'll see hoe they turn out.
