Keep in mind this bike comes to the US heavily restricted in the ECU like any other modern bike, 2 wheel dynoworks has a stock flash bumping it from 50 stock to the 70ish HP and a little more torque unlocking the full potential of this motor. Can't wait to see what full system, flash, air filter and possibly velocity stacks do to it.

@@CloverDaBunni Most bikes have throttle restrictions in the ECU, my GSXS1000GT+ included. In early RPM's they can be limited to like 60% throttle when you're giving 100% and it makes the bikes feel gutless downlow until you hit higher RPM's where the throttle restrictions slowly ease off to help pass emissions. ECU flash is a world of a difference in power delivery for any new bike restricted in this way.

@@ganuvien thank you for informing me, I was referring to the rumor spread about the zx4rr that the US model would only rev to 11.5k cus that's what the Canadian model is doing.
@smoke05s
@smoke05s Жыл бұрын
@@CloverDaBunni It revs higher than 11.5, but the secondary throttle plates begin to close at 11.5. So your peak power is at 11.5, it wont build any more torque higher than that stock. Its so new I don't know if they cracked the ECU yet, but when they do they can re tune how the secondary throttle plates behave (like keeping them 100% open much higher in the rev range) and also tweak the air fuel ratio to get the last little bit out of it.

Kawasaki spent tons of money developing this engine so I don’t wanna bash on it I’m sure there trying to recoup some r&d cost with this price but atleast they had the balls to do a small cc in-line 4. Now I think since they spent that r&d money surely they will use this magnificent engine in more than one chassis. Love the videos as always man great work.

Quick Shifter disabled by default. Simply press and hold left thumb down arrow button + and right thumb select button until you see a "KQS" icon appear under your displayed riding mode. Quickshifting between 1 to 2 at low speed/rpm is a little clunky but improves with higher speed/rpm/throttle aggression. Between gears 2 to 6 it's buttery smooth no matter the speed/rpm. Quickshifting down also has pleasant autoblips. Very smooth!

You hit the nail right on the head. I sat on one yesterday. I have a 30" inseam and it was perfect but I wasn't flat footed. My heels were up about an inch off the floor. The leg bend was very comfortable. The reach for me was as you said.(it felt good) The ZX6R is a little too tall (tippy toe) for me and a little too aggressive for my arm length. I think I would rather have the ZX6R over the 400RR because of the price.

Seems like a very cool bike, but curious if the price is justifiable over the Ninja 400 or CFM 450SS (depending on what it is you like to do I guess). I mean @8:53 I believe you were WOT 2nd-4th and didn't crack 100MPH. For someone like myself who just loves cruising around on the street, I'm not sure whether the 10,000+ RPMs is necessary. A few weeks on owning the 450SS and I am still loving it. Great balance of being aggressive but enjoyable, the power for the street is def there and although it doesn't sound as good as a bike like this, it sounds WAY better than the 180 degree crank bikes. Love your content and the interactions you provide to your subs

@@brianfarquhar5962 At this point I will be happy with either ZX6R or ZX4RR...I am a brand new rider and live in a rural area with crap roads & rain so ZX6R seems overkill for me and 54-56hp seems great for learning then I can unlock it later. Another thing is that ZX4RR is more compact, centralized mass and has ride-by-wire that ZX6R doesn't have. I like how they've set both motorcycles up, and it makes both bikes desirable. What I don't like is the insane dealer OTD price of 12 grand W/O sales tax where I live, it's absurd. Maybe 11 grand but not 12...

@Omni_Moto

Top end/high speed, the ZX-4RR performs better. The Ninja 400 has better low-mid range power, but falls off where the ZX-4RR picks up. Personally, and this is just my opinion, at the current price of the KRT edition ZX-4RR, I don’t think you can justify the price jump over the Ninja 400, _unless_ you are using it strictly for track days and squeezing out all of the available power on backroads. As a daily motorcycle, the Ninja 400 makes WAY more sense. Hope this helps.

Dude with the FZ6, the regular Ninja 400 is faster than the FZ6 in the canyons (I have both of those bikes, trust me its no comparison). For regular lower RPM cruising the ninja 400 twin is the FZ6's equal. FZ6 only has more top end but does not handle anywhere near the ninja. That's the normal 400 twin. I would think this 400 4 cylinder would feel way anemic if you ride it like the FZ6 (shifting at 10K). The FZ6 redlines at 14K so it should feel similar right? . . wrong. The FZ6 is tuned for some extra midrange, the 4 cylinder RR is not tuned like that at all. Just like the video shows you have to wring its neck for it to even feel normal. But above that is where the fun is. You can ride like you are racing and stay close to the speed limit. And once you get it up there with that sweet handling and great brakes, if you are good at keeping the RPM in the sweet spot, it will be faster than the twin or the FZ6 in the canyons. Straight line the FZ6 will dust this bike period and is probably better for all around riding. Keep your FZ6 and add this one (or the twin) then you have everything.

The fact that the Z900 ABS starts at a $300 lower price-tag is a mind-F. Has 40 more HP, ride modes, traction control, and requires more material to create the engine since it's larger displacement. Perhaps Kawasaki is just trying to recoup some of the costs in R&D they spent on the new ZX-4R engine and that's why it's priced the way it is now. Strange times we live in.

When you get to riding more, you'll realize you don't need both feet flat footed when you get the technique down better. You should easily be able to put 1 foot down, and put 2 down with a little ankle on each. Also, kawi's are nice and skinny (more comfortable short term and much easier to reach the ground than their "seat height" # implies). Also, it's a light bike. I have a ninja 300 and frequently intentionally lean it a bit extra at stop lights and bounce it around with my leg just for something to do while i wait. It would be hard to get more beginner friendly than that.

Thanks for pointing that out. Perhaps a set of aftermarket/adjustable rear-sets would remedy that, and create a natural attack position for taller riders? 🤔

The cost comes from the inline4 and the high end suspension. Stop complaining about electronics, they add pretty much no cost because the sensors have been there for ABS anyway. This has only basic level electronics, pretty much everything they can do with software + ABS sensors. No expensive gyrosensors involved anywhere.
@Omni_Moto
@Omni_Moto Жыл бұрын
_sigh_ I will continue to complain because manufacturers charge extra for those added electronic rider aids. With all due respect, "ThEy aDd PrEtTy MuCh No CoSt" is the most inaccurate thing I've read in the comments section for this video so far. For the manufacturer, sure, those components may not cost much to add, but that doesn't mean they won't increase prices to the end-consumers for those luxuries. If a Japanese OEM produces a motorcycle that is offered with and without ABS, the ABS version of the same bike, on average, is about $500 more expensive *FOR ABS ALONE*. (Example: Look at the GSX-S 750 or the SV650 suzukicycles.com/street) This is consistent across OEMs outside of Japan as well (even Indian Motorcycle does this with their Indian Scout - Nearly $900 more for *ABS only!!!* www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/scout/). When you start adding other electronics like TCS, Rider modes, power modes, etc., the manufacturer will charge more for that product because they are adding cost to the bike and creating more value for the end retail consumer who will be willing to pay for those items because that's what they desire. Regardless of how basic the electronics are, it doesn't matter. If Kawasaki were to run a standard analog gauge, no TCS, no ABS, no rider modes, no power modes, and more budget suspension, the cost of the bike will go down drastically, and that's the bottom line. Thanks for your comment and ride safe.

@MrCheaterpipe
@MrCheaterpipe Жыл бұрын
There's 2 theories on that one is the gradual wear in like you are suggesting where you break in the rings and bearings over 100 miles or so before going full throttle or going to the upper Rev range the other is to hit it hard and fast off initial build that way the parts all get a full load of strain while the bearings and rings are finding their seats the idea being before the components reach their point of setting in it will be a more complete and solid set also like the man showed it has no torque outside its power band so you kinda gotta Rev the nuts off of it anyway so I really don't see much of a problem with it since that's what that engine is built to do

Mirko74
