"Here's the trick! Follow the directions as far as how much to fill the reservoir with vinegar/water and hit the CLEAN button. Let it go through the cycle. When it finishes, the screen will either say CLEAN or FLUSH. If it says CLEAN, run the clean cycle again with vinegar and water. If it says FLUSH, DO NOT REMOVE THE RESERVOIR OR TURN OFF MACHINE! Fill the reservoir with water from a cup or other container. Then hit the CLEAN button again. It took me forever to figure it out and everytime I took the water tank off it would default back like I hadn't run the clean cycle. My directions didn't say any of this about flushing it and it took a while to figure it out. Hope this helps!" - I found this on an Amazon review site. Don't remove the reservoir during the clean cycle. Pour from another cup.

Look, I'm not sure what all these people complaining have been doing, but I did exactly what the video said, I stuck around for a while until it finished, the display said to flush it, so I poured out the cleaning solution and filled it full of water again, and then I let it flush itself out. As soon as it finished, the clean light went out and it was ready to be used again. Granted, I only ever used filtered water in the machine, but that's what you should do anyway. Not sure why all the complaints about it not working.

I ignore the CLEAN light button. It has no effect on the operation of the machine. The NCB sensors appear to be overly sensitive. After cleaning with both the white vinegar solution or coffee maker descaling solution, my NCB's CLEAN light comes back on after 1 or 2 weeks. Sometimes just days after. On average, I may brew 2 cups a day and only use purified, bottled water. I'll clean and descale as I feel is needed. Other coffee makers aren't required to be descaled that often, maybe every 3-6 months depending on the water, so there is no reason to expect that the NCB needs to be descaled every time the CLEAN light comes on. Just use common sense and clean and descale every few months or if the taste is not good. If the CLEAN light bothers you, then, put a piece of black tape over it so you won't see it. LOL

I always hear people say not to use hot water to make good coffee. Is there a scientific reason why? I don't use hot water to make my coffee, however, I do use water from the "hot" side of the tap. (I can usually fill my carafe before the water begins getting hot because of the cold water that is already in the water line.) The reason I use the water from the hot side is because it is coming from the water heater where most of minerals (like calcium carbonate) have been precipitated during the heating process. In other words, there is less calcium carbonate in the hot water line than from the cold. So, there is a lower amount of calcium carbonate in my coffee maker and fewer minerals in my coffee. Since I have been doing this, I haven't noticed that I have to clean my coffee makers and carafes with descaling solution or vinegar. Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts.

+quint bush Search why it's bad to clean dishes with hot water, should give you a little insight. It can still affect our coffee ordeal.
@harveywallbanger62588 жыл бұрын
I have heard that also but I heard this from a cousin of mine who is a chef. It's mainly because of the possibility of hot tap water having contaminants or piping chemicals that could make you ill, and hot tap water can get grimy and nasty when sitting in pipes without being run through constantly. Just like a refrigerator, cold water keeps things fresher and less likely to spoil. I would be more likely to drink cold, fresh water out of a lake than warm lake water which can make you sick.

@andrewpolitano7 жыл бұрын
Joie Flores it is simply because they did not state in plain English in the instruction manual that the machine is waiting for two complete flush cycles to occur before the light turns out. Your coffee maker, at this point, is probably clean, however unless you rinse twice *without* removing the reservoir the light will never go off. They really need to update that manual and explain these peculiarities.
@denniswaller4206 жыл бұрын
Take the reservoir off the coffee maker. With the reservoir off, press the clean button (do not touch any of the brew cycle buttons). In less than a minute your coffee maker will say flush. Press the clean button again and the clean cycle will stop and your clock will come back. Now you can put the reservoir back on and resume normal use.

I bought mine new in mid- July. After about 10 brews of coffee, the clean light came on. I cleaned it, deep cleaned it, flushed, etc. I had the same issue with the clean light not going off after cleaning it. I called Customer Support & was told to ignore it & "just think of it as an 'on' light & that I should only have to clean it after every 100 cups or so." I've only brewed maybe 25 more cups since then & NOW the clock is 'gone' & I get a 'CLN' that flashes on every minute or so, even after cleaning & flushing it twice. Oh, and I have to hold the button for the 4 hr. deep clean cycle because the one hr. cycle no longer is optional on mine- it goes straight to 'brew' mode instead. Sadly, this coffee maker is an expensive piece of shit. I wished I would've never bought the damn thing.

The coffee taste is good, but color things are the worst. The coffee mug has wide opening and if you want pour coffe into thermos it is spills from sides. Coffe mug does not have narrow opening. 2nd worst thing the clean light comes on every two weeks and starts the headache. You have to spend at least 4 hours to get cleaning done. Do not be happy, because after 2 weeks the clean light comes on again.

Just received a brand new Ninja Coffee Bar, and it WILL NOT WORK only brews maybe 2 oz on the full carafe setting. I called customer service, and she said "you have an air bubble". She tells me how to clear the air bubble. It still will not brew longer than 14 seconds. She then said I needed to clean the machine. (WHAT!?!?! IT IS BRAND NEW....RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX). She says she will email me directions on how to clean (I'm still waiting an hour later). I have run a full reservoir thru (14 seconds at a time...maybe 2 oz at a time) and it is still not working properly. I have cleared the air bubble ONCE AGAIN, and have unplugged the unit (while I write this) and will try again. If it doesn't work properly, I will take it back to the store where I purchased it and will NEVER purchase another Ninja nor Shark product. I wish I had seen some of these comments before I purchased this product and I would have not purchased it. Really had high expectations for this product!

I’ve cleaned this machine over 10 times in the last 2 days and the light is still on. It has in fact been on since a few months after I got this nearly 3 years ago. I tried cleaning it out last year as well and didn’t work then either. It’s been on for so long that it’s been broken that I’m almost used to it now but not seeing the clock on this thing does suck! As to my cleaning ritual: Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I’ll end my annual cleaning ritual with this machine this year. I’m not happy with this brand. Called customer service and got no help or offer to repair or replace.

This coffee machine is the worst coffee machine i ever had. Firstly, the reusable filter wasn't in the box so we had to call and wait 2 weeks for it to arrive. We get it, and it spits out coffee grounds out of it. Then, a while into use, about a month, it refuses to brew and keeps beeping. The coffee also tastes mediocre, you're paying for the brand and the extra stuff that comes with it. Plus, it takes 60 MINUTES FOR A CLEAN CYCLE. I could just use vinegar for a full pot and water for a full pot with my old coffee maker, but nope, these guys had to make it complicated. Here we are on the clean cycle, and it puts out a bit of water then does nothing. At all. For the past 10 minutes.

You can't wait 60 minutes for a clean cycle? Sounds like you have a coffee addiction.

This is such a crock of stupidity. They never mention ONCE the flush light! I clean it and the flush light comes on which means it is descaled, the what???? I have tried everything to get that stupid clear light off and it will not go off because what the heck do you do when that flush light comes on dude? What button do you push then??? AND why is that not included in any directions with this coffee make or in your directions. Love the coffee maker hate cleaning it .

Totally irritated with the lack of customer service provided by Ninja and will post this everywhere. I have a CF085 machine that is less than a year old, still under warranty. I have gone through the cleaning process multiple times, to include the more advanced cleaning, yet the clean light remains illuminated and it says CLN on the display, never displaying the time. I have gone through troubleshooting with customer service and the problem persists. Ninja admits that the machine is defective, but they want to charge me for "freight charges" to replace my machine that is under warranty! Don't worry though, they are not making money on this shipping charge, it is a third party charge by FedEx. Excuse me? This product is under warranty still. I have complained to my credit card company and plan to write bad reviews EVERYWHERE. Don't waste your money on a Ninja Coffee Bar-They do not stand behind their products.

Ninja. Get this problem rectified ASAP. It's a very expensive piece of kit and this issue (the clean light still illuminated after several cleaning cycles) should not be as prevelant as it clearly is when the expense and technological advancement of this machine is taken into consideration . Define the problem, work out a solution, announce a product recall or resolve the issue for your customers via a social media video upload that will definitively solve the issue. I do not expect to justify spending a substantial amount of money for a supoosedly superior coffee making device that has an underlying manufacturing and design floor. I will not be purchasing this brand again.
