We paved the way for guys like Arcus. I don't know of a single person back in the 80's to have played this well other than the devs/programmers. Most of these tricks were not known and took decades to figure out and work out. I played this game for years and years when I was younger. Finally beat the game after years of playing. I am guessing if I was able to take the knowledge of this video and take it back in time and study each frame by movement, we could do this. Granted it would take lots of memory and skill. We have the blue prints all laid out before us. Trying to remember all the moves is akin to playing guitar or any other instrument. Arcus gets into this zen like state and plays like a pro! The rest of us have to spend months upon months mastering these tricks and then there is the luck of the draw on many of these speed runs. But still, imagine how impressive this would have been back in the 80's to pull this off?

Dude beat the game in 1 freakin guy! The only way I beat this game was the classic Konomi code and got those 30 lives. However we didn't know about safe stand zones. Pause tricks and great Bzzzzzztzz's. I don't think just anyone could this even with all the knowledge of the videos. Might be able to help someone beat the game without cheating. But this guy is top notch pro!

No shit lol. Without the code the game was hard. I was born in 80 NES it was the first game on the system I got besides Mario/Duckhunt packin back in 87 Love the system to death bc of games like Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Mike Tyson's Punch Out,RC Pro Am, Bionic Commando,and Contra to name a few. System had a lot of classics but back then you had to get good at everything that you had because it seemed like you only got a game at Christmas and on your birthday at least at my household anyway lol.. Thank goodness there was a video store owned by family down the road that would let you rent NES games for $3.99 for 5 days it was a blessing for sure.

I remember just beating the speed bike level felt like a major accomplishment back then.Born in 80 so I def remember all the classics and there were many. no DLC back then you just got to play the same game over and over again unless you got lucky and rented one for the weekend or it was Christmas or your birthday lol.

You know you have some skills when you can make games like this look easy. Fly through them with no fear always moving and always shooting. Knowing where to stand and where to bzzztzz correctly. Where to pause and where to drop stop and roll! You did this with 1 freakin guy. Pretty amazing! We all did this together! As back in the 80's as a kid I was paving the way for guys like you Arcus to come along and show us all how it is done! To be fair, we didn't know any tricks other than the code to get those 30 lives. And still some folks couldn't beat the game. It was a testament to being able to beat the game on just 3 guys. No easy feat back in the 80's. And no easy feat today. Even in light of being able to study these videos move for move. There is still luck of the draw to be had.
