Cholinergic receptors fall under two different categories including muscarinic receptors, and nicotinic receptors. Great job! I just finished paramedic school and a lot of our medications we give work on the adrenergic and cholinergic and all they taught was basically what the med did (+HR, -HR, etc) but not how it actually works on the receptors and effects the action potential nor how it effected so many of the other organs. Atropine for example we give for symptomatic bradycardia but never told us why it speeds up the heart but now I understand that being an anticholinergic why/how it speeds up the heart. Same with the side effects like blurred vision, reduced salvation, etc. Knowing the why and how I don't have to remember every side effect because I know how the drug effect the other organ systems. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
