I qas in my twenties when martial law was proclaimed by Marcos. It left a chilling effect on us, the citizens. Now, in my 80' s listening to this piece of history as narrated, gives me goosebumps and chills my heart. What a courageous Ninoy who so suffered tremendously for the sake of the restoration of democracy. The generation of today has no comprehension nor appreciate what happened to the Philippines i the 60's, 70's during Marcos regime. The brutality, the viciousness of his regime is now being covered to promote Marcos as a hero. No matter what the pro Marcoses, they cannot change history. Others will be blinded but truth always shine. It's a pity lots of Pilipinos are covering their eyes on what's true and choose to believe the lies. God is not mocked. I believe many Filipinos who are born from 40’s s to early 70’s s era still believe he’s a unique human being .He was indicted like a normal citizen just an accusation of rebellion under martial law year and jailed for eight years for not giving a fair trial but only a military court under President which his own enemy.After incarcerated leave the Philippines and live a normal life in Boston and become a lecturer in University there.But after he heard the news that Marcos was suffering from a serious illness he called to the malacanang and talked to Marcos and tried to persuade him to have an honest election due to the country’s sake that if he will not get better for his illness the county will be in chaos and will be lead to military revolution. But Marcos refused to listen.And ninoy was no choice but to go back in the Philippines for the sake of Filipinos, Inspite many of his friends advised not to go back for his own safety he was still decided to go back home but for his safety purposes he use an alias to his passport in the name of Martial Bonifacio in an interview he use the name in memory of fort Bonifacio where he was in jail and Martial for its happened during Martial law. I remember I was just listening to the radio that time and heard ninoy was the story of the news and reporter announced that ninoy airplane landed in the Philippines, I also remember the anchor was reporting that there was two or three constabulary police who picked Ninoy inside the plane and from simultaneously reporting he was accompanied by those PC to go down the plane and the shot was heard in the air there’s a lot of people crying in the background of the reporter, and reporter also reported that there’s a man also lying dead which is Galman that they said who shot Ninoy.And even I don’t know who is ninoy in person but only as an opposition senator then I felt the sadness too maybe because I’m too young and it was happened in broad daylight and all people are shock. That the only thing I remember about ninoy during those Marcos regime and his stiory suddenly stop there no investigation happened his story was forgotten temporarily until three years after his death until another killing happened around 1986 of a former Governor from antique and campaign director of Cory. His death fueled the people power and the rest is history. And after the Marcos regime those video of ninoy’s death in tarmac was then released. And his unfortunate story from incarceration to self exile and to his assassination
