jup i think its pretty dope aswell. though i really hope that they improve the overview of the map. it bothers me that the characters sometimes look like a regular unit, unlike in the radiant games where they all looked a lot different. I hope you get what i am trying to say^^

tim Pütten In Awakening I'm pretty sure player units keep their outfit colour to distinguish them from "normal" (allied or enemy) units, they also have tiny little features that identify the character. For example, player units will always have the same hair colour you see in their character portraits, hair length and styles also changes in the sprites to match the character, as well as any other distinguishing characteristics (like how Owain's sprite shows his "Sword Hand" pose, or how Lucina's sprite always shows her hair accessory).

I thought it was Fire Emblem when I saw the Pegasus Knight. I knew it was Fire Emblem when I saw the Myrmidon. I'm severely excited for this new Fire Emblem game, and that music was hype! I just have one tiny request. KEEP PERMADEATH OPTIONAL!

Absolutely keep permadeath, though. Edit: That's one of the most essential parts of Fire Emblem and I'd suggest anyone to try it out. Also, don't act like you didn't think about FE X SMT first. :]

TheQu500 In Fire Emblem Awakening, the characters didn't have feet in battle scenes and in-engine cutscenes because they weren't sure if the engine could handle it. It turned out it could, so they made sure to add feet to the characters in the next game.

Why is everyone hating on FE: Awakening? It was my first game in the Fire Emblem series, and to be honest I found it amazing. Now I don't know if the other games before Awakening were better, but still. The gameplay was great and I felt very attached to the characters, who were charming and I loved the design of them. I loved the storyline too. The idea of friendship/ romance through supports was a great one, in my opinion. So yeah, you guys may think it was boring/ easy, but as a first time player I was definately hooked, and am looking forward to playing more games in the series!

Yeah, Awakening is truly excellent. Not my favorite Fire Emblem, but still excellent. Some veterans are just hating on some of the changes Awakening did. But yeah, I highly recommend trying out other games in the series. If you like Awakening, you won't be disappointed. :)

Thing I most want to see is death scenes. IE if someone dies the Child (if in this game) and Spouse would have a dialogue with them before they die. That way it would make deaths more meaningful/sad

For every death scene there needs to be a cutscene type scenario with dialouge from them and the person they were paired with. (E.g. *sumia dies paired with Chrom* *goes into cutscene* Sumia: "I-... I'm... s-...sorry......... Goodbye..." Chrom: "Gods... Don't die on me!!" *cutscene ends and sumia is dead) Each cutscene could have a low resolution easy-insert background for each stage. Each character would have a death and dead ally dialouge

I don't see whats wrong with adding Gay relationships for the people that want that. GamersBlogX There are two ways to "accidentally" marry characters in FE:A. One is building support relations and choosing to see the wrong S rank. The other, more common and frustrating, and wanting Chrom to marry certain people. If you want Chrom to marry Olivia, you CANNOT achieve C rank with any other female. The moment you do, regardless of whether you view it, Chrom will not marry Olivia. Olivia's support points with Chrom must the highest the same chapter you recruit her. Ergo, it's easy to accidentally have Chrom marry some one else if you wanted him to marry Olivia. Or, Maiden, but I can't imagine some one wanting to have that happen. o.o;

I'm looking forward to this, though I gotta say, that artstyle looks different than the one from other FE games. I know it's the same artist from 'Awakening' but still, it looks more.. japanese, like something you'd expect from a jrpg. FE usually has this european medieval-like style. Let's hope they still stick to the roots mostly. Oh also: *Finally they have feet!* Edit: Just something that concerns me, I really hope they *don't* turn the series into an *anime dating simulator*. It's a strategy game, memorable units are cool but people, just debating over which character they'd go on a date with, aren't cool at all.

I remembered when Awakening was told to be the last game of FE. When this trailer began I was elated when I recognize the Pegasus flyers and when they show A DANCER like the protagonist of the game (for the blue hair motiv) I literally cry of emotion. Time flies, and I played all Fates, Echoes and Three Houses and enjoyed all but for me Fates is my favorite because it is like a saw a miracle in my eyes. I hope that in future eyes, Fates has a release that make justice to its story. It's well-known that they butchered A LOT of dialog and story because they can't be storage in the cartridge of the 3DS and I hope that with a future release they could have a "directors cut" with all the story because the music and the characters deserved it. (And pants for poor Camilla, she must be really uncomfortable riding wyverns in panties, lol)

For all the people arguing against casual mode and for classic mode only, what's the point of only playing classic and chastising others for not doing so because of "the emotional impact it has on you when you lose someone and have to continue on without them" when chances are you're going to reset the game as soon as one person dies anyways and hope they don't die again, especially if you're playing on some of the really hard difficulties where that's bound to happen sooner or later (rendering your argument moot)? Sure it often made you think to take extra care of your units and plan more strategically but you can do that on casual mode too and you are very likely to have something you did not see coming come along and ruin your day in the worst (again, especially on the harder difficulties). Aside of that little rant my hype for this game cannot be put into words right now. I loved Awakening so much and I am super glad that it saved the series from being met with a terrible fate.

If they remove custom characters, that would let the player's unit be in major cutscenes (movies). In awakening, the only time "you" we're in a movie was either first-person or if you were only in the shot for a second or two (with a hood up). No custom characters would allow slightly better storytelling, but at the cost of a small portion of the "actually being there" factor.

Now is it the most interesting in the series? Maybe, that depends on the person. From my stand point it wasn't the most immersing story, but i still enjoyed it. I'm more happy that the series is still going then caring if it's going to have super in depth story ( which would be nice of course ). So please stop repeating the same thing on why you don't like awakening. I think one time is enough. I honestly do not understand why some people hate awakening. Sure the story wasn't anything that special and I could understand some of the more hardcore fans not linking it for being a bit easier than past fire emblem games. But do either of those things really hold a candle to the amazing characters, soundtrack, gameplay and graphics (for a 3ds game.)

It's because it created a bunch of frauds that call themselves "fans" and treat as awakening as a waifu simulator and refuse to play any other game in the series. In other words, Awakening created nothing but cancer. Kinda similar to how Persona created cancer too and treat SMT as a waifu simulator.

I hope this game include some of the things awakening lacks: - Better map design - More varied missions. I'm bored with all the "rout" and "defeat the enemies" in awakening. Previous games have defend, protect, seize, escape chapters (like in FE5 and FE10) - Avatar's limited class set chosen from the start like in FE12 if there is avatar in this game - Better difficulty scaling. In awakening, the gap between Hard and Lunatic is quite big for some players. - Better story - If this game has children then no more awkward time-traveling. Make a time-skip or something.

I definitely agree with the varied missions point. And the time travel aspect was not awkward to me, because they made it make sense. It was essentially "the god of our realm used her god powers to send us back to save the realm." It's hard to argue against that. Also less broken skills. With Galeforce, you could actually beat a chapter in the first turn by killing an enemy then killing the commander. I also agree with the better story point. I really liked the story from before, but like all games, the sequels need to have improved stories. It annoys me that people call the story weak, considering in the last FEs, the only one to have a better story (even though I didn't play it, just read the story cause there's no way I can find the game and play it), is path of radiance, and maybe radiant dawn.

StickFigure Maybe a time skip where you re-recruit characters. I liked that in Blazing sword. But not recruiting with a very specific character that isn't a lord. It's a waste of space in my army in a battle, when I have to bring a crappy character into battle. Also they should use the recruitment music from the previous FEs. The music in smash to be slightly more specific. I could listen to that music all day.

Luis Villalobos I've only played Shadow Dragon and Awakening, and I liked how in the latter in the child missions you could just simply recruit him/her with Chrom, in case you didn't know who the mother was or she was underleveled, so I'd like to have that option back. Also I think they could get very creative putting different objectives in a map: "go to this place" -> "defend it" -> "prevent the enemy commander from escaping" etc. It could really demand more attention and careful strategizing, which would be cool.

Yeah, it was pretty fantastic. I think they'll bring back the marriage aspect, just not the children aspect. They wouldn't do a time travel plot device again immediately after Awakening, so if children are involved they'd have to do a serious timeskip. And there are theories that customization is back, but in the form of a lord. Of course that's just a theory.

2.- Awakening had bad modeling for a 3DS game to begin with, I doubt this will be 3DS exclusive, it's just that the development team has already gotten better at developing for the system, it's natural for sequels to have better graphics and if it was going to be New 3DS exclusive Nintendo would have already said so, because so far the only New 3DS exclusive game is the port of Xenoblade 1, the other games like Monster Hunter 4 and Majora's Mask only add minor things like C-stick support.

Interesting. Given the connections between Fire Emblem 1/2/3/11/12, 4/5, 6/7, and 9/10, I was expecting something related to Awakening. Especially given its success, and Robin and Lucina's new popularity thanks to Smash. But as it stands, it seems like Awakening is going to go the Sacred Stones route of being a standalone title. I'll be watching this game closely.

I know there's that connection, but everything else has been more closely related than the centuries between Awakening and the other games. At most, it's been a continent away or a generation apart. Although, my current theory on this game is that it's got to do with the Valmese war, so maybe there isn't so much of a disconnect.

FE 2 is not related to Marth. It features an entirely separate cast and story as well as gameplay. It's basically a FE game in namesake only.

10superpower It takes place at the same time as FE1/3, and has four characters reappear, if I recall correctly. It's just that there's an ocean apart. Both continents are even featured in Awakening. Also, even if it wasn't, how would that make it not a Fire Emblem game in anything but name? Until Awakening, there were no ties from 9/10 to 1/2/3/11/12, and even now there's no connection to 6/7/8.

jediyoshi64 Has it ever occurred that there wasn't an intent to make EVERY game connected to each other? The only thing that the games are supposed to have in common is a "Fire Emblem" type item. If every FE game has to be connected, why is the Fire Emblem in 6 and 7 a gem, and how does 8 connect when it's on an entirely separate continent from all the other games? Sorry, but the belief of all of them being connected doesn't hold water with me. I know some of them are, but definitely not all of them.
