Nostalgia. Still own the cartridge. One of THE most legendary games out there. I still think this is the most creative 3D Mario game ever made in terms of overall effort and build. Kids these days like to diss it in favor of Odyssey or Galaxy due to its age, but they don't understand how historically important this game was, like Zelda OOT or Goldeneye 007.

You're being my guiding star in this amazing game. I've never had a N64, bought one in May this year, 2019, ten years after you posted this great tutorial - because that's really what your longplay is. However, I didn't find this until what, one month ago? November? So I was deeply sad with the game, for I wasn't able to complete many of the objectives. With your timeless help - and thanks to KZbin as well, for allowing us to have these contents -, I have now 48 stars and I'm enjoying every single second of Mario 64!!! Thanks a million. For your time, for your dedication, patience, and idea of posting this for people to enjoy it, or to learn it. The latter being my case. God bless you always.

Recently, I decided to roll it out for my two kids, 6 and 8 years old. Wouldn't ya know, they "accidentally" deleted Mario A, which of course had 120 stars. So now I'm on a mission to get those 120 stars back. But it's been so long since I last played, I've pretty much forgotten how to do it. Your video is a big help! Thanks! I was 6 y.o. when I got a Nintendo 64. My father brought it from America to Norway, I was the first in school to have one. I was a legend in class, everyone would come to my place to play Mario 64 and Mario Kart. I knew absolutely nothing about this game and neither did anyone else at the time, we didn't speak english so we wouldent understand the signs with instructions on the walls. Remember playing for maaany hours, walking all over the castle, until by chance realizing you could jump into the paintings. An entire world opened up, we wouldn't believe how challenging and fun it was. After hundreds of hours playing I would reach 120 stars, no help at all. This is pure nostalgia, best game ever! OMG!!

Amazing what they could fit on an 8MB cartridge Super Street Fighter 4 uses 20MB just to save your game even though it actually only writes a few bytes of code annoys me when they balloon save files for no reason.

Blew me away when I first saw this game being played in "Game" on Cruises St., Limerick City, Ireland back in '96. I was 12 years old.

I'm glad I now own this game on the actual N64. I wish I could have grown up with it. I was born the same year the game came out.

Phew. Thank God. Cause we need kids like you to honor and promote video games such as this for the next generation to at least have respect for what came out before they were born.

Jolly Rodger Bay has some serious bedtime music. It also sounds like background music for a 90's hot tub commercial, doesn't it?

This is truly a great game. One of the best Mario games ever, and one of the best Nintendo 64 games ever, actually, I would risk to say this is on the top 50 of the best games ever made (even though I am not that fan of Mario). Anyways, great gameplay, the camera moves are kinda strange, but the game has many features and it is truly great for the N64. The soundtrack and sound effects suit the game perfectly. My rate: 19/20.

+Cc games basically. You get at least 70 stars (if you want to beat the game legit), fight Bowser 3 times, save the princess, and that's it. There are 120 stars in the game, and if you get all 120 (SPOILERS if you haven't played the game) it unlocks a cannon in the castle courtyard that you can use to get on top of the castle, greet Yoshi (for the 1st time in 3D), and he gives you 100 lives. Then, you can get a wing cap and fly around the courtyard.
