Yeah, the only way to truly prevent scalping is to do what Amazon Japan does and limit how many switches someone can buy on launch date, by limiting each account to 1 or 2 switches. The other way is to make scalping a crime. Artificially inflating the market should be a crime imo.

You can be sure that Nintendo was watching the PS5/XSX(S) launches and taking notes on how NOT to launch the successor. Also, let’s not buy into this idea that Nintendo needs GTA to move systems. The prospects of new 1st party games will be enough to trigger sellouts.

I was really hesitant about the Switch. I bought a Wii U launch day and literally zero hype at Best Buy. So fast forward to 2016/2017 I did NOT pre-order but I was happy to have waited outside BestBuy for the midnight release. It was a fun moment and I knew not too many more launches where we as gamers hang out and wait for midnight and purchase our systems. Was pretty exciting.

I think full production starts md-late December and reveal follows in first half of January. We already know that parts are being shipped so assembly can't be too far away. Prime 4 launches with the system in May.

I heard this on KZbin that during their earlier this year shareholders meeting. Nintendo said they are supporting the current switch consoles until the end of next year. This might mean 2025 fiscal year.

I’ll be honest, I cannot begin to actually pick a date I think this console would release. I have flip flopped on when it releases, even if I was feeling… okay-ishly confident about it not revealing this year after a bit. That said, sure, it’ll probably be stocked pretty well, if what Furakawa has said is to be believed. And maybe these numbers are accurate. I couldn’t tell you.

I don't think most people are gonna buy the switch 2 on launch, probably only the desperate gamers. I mean based on the leaks, it looks exactly like the switch, so how would the average consumer differentiate them? After all, most of the nintendo console sales are from consumers not just gamers

there's a lot of evidence from publicly available information from documents like shipping orders that the switch 2 might use DLSS which basically allows the system's parts from Nvidia to up the graphics/lighting/frame rate in real time as it's being rendered to match other current gen consoles

People probably won't believe this, but not having GTA6 could really hurt the Switch 2. "But Switch 1 didn't have GTA and it was fine!" - Yes, but GTA5 had already been out for a while all the way back on 360 & PS3, then PS4 & XB1 & PC. Switch released years into the XB1 & PS4 gen, but GTA6 is set to release in 2025, and it all absolutely be the biggest game of the generation. Those of you old enough to remember the GC, PS2 & XB days will remember how GC not having GTA really killed its chances. That's how important that franchise was. Even little kids are going to want whatever plays GTA, and many parents will give in

Even this next gen Switch and ps5/seriesx most likely have canyon sized difference in power between them. So, if GTA6 is there, it would be an extremely downgraded version that's just gonna echo all of the sloppy seconds port Switch has for the last 8 years. Maybe I am wrong and the next gen Switch with DLSS and other software upgrades will close that gap enough to get a really good version of the game.

The Switch 2 probably won’t be revealed until January 2025. But don’t worry, we just need to show patience. Maybe we’ll have a new Mario Kart game at launch or Prime 4, Legends: Z-A or Xenoblade X could launch with the console. Mario Kart could launch with 32 tracks and no crossover characters and get DLC packs adding crossover characters and double up the tracks to 48. It’s weird that the Blue Falcon is in the series but Captain Falcon isn’t. So why don’t they come in form of the DLC? I want them to ditch the Coin Item and bring the Fake Item Box back, add commentary as the Arcade GP series has it and bring Mission Mode back as it was supposed to return in Wii. By March 2026, we could get a new 3D Kirby game, possibly a Sequel to Forgotten Land. We could get to see playable Elfilin and Clawroline for the first time and they could bring back the Dream Palace Allies as well. Halfway through 2026, we could get Splatoon 4 and by the end of the year, we could get Super Smash Bros. 6 and hopefully they’ll ditch World of Light and bring Subspace Emissary back. We could get Super Mario Maker 3 and Luigi’s Mansion 4 and a successor to Super Mario Party Jamboree by 2027 as it’s been 5 years since we had Super Mario Maker 2 and Luigi’s Mansion 3. They could add a Mario Wonder game style to Super Mario Maker 3 so 3D World isn’t just the extra game style and they could bring the Amiibo costumes and the Weird Mushroom back, and for Luigi’s Mansion 4, the game could be in an Airbnb and we might get to see Luigi save Daisy for the first time in the series. By 2028, we could get a successor to Paper Mario: The Origami King as the TTYD remake came out this year. So why not another one in the next 4 years? I hope the console sells well. I probably won’t get it day one, or maybe not at all. I might wait for Smash 6 to be announced and then get it with Mario Kart and get other games later on.
