Yes. It's like upgrading pc hardware in that it should have an easier time running the games, but it's still up to developers to make use of it. How many multiplatform games will now commit additional resources to a Pro mode? Is a game from 2021 going to do anything with it? Probably not if the devs have already moved on.

Sony made the point very clear in their presentations. And assuming you have purchased previous consoles/any technology I'm guessing you know very well what the point of upgrading is but you just don't want to pay for it. Which is fine but why act like there is no point? You may not care but other do. If you really don't know though, the point in general is better looking and better running games. Games with a graphics mode that were previously locked at 30FPS are now expected to run at 60FPS. Dynamic resolution scaling across all modes should now run at their higher limits rather than how they do now which is at the lower limit. So say in performance mode if it was 1080P - 1440P now it should be at 1440P more often. Anti aliasing/FSR solutions should also run at a higher quality and be more stable in motion. Games that do not receive and official update but had unlocked framerates like Elden Ring it its graphics mode, I would expect that it will now run at 60FPS rather than the variable sub 60 as it did before. Then games that are receiving and update or games that will release in the future will look better. Its pretty simple. If you aren't interested thats fine, but don't act like you don't understand what the deal is.

Strange thing about the PlayStation network being down was when I was trying to load stellar blade it flat out would not load. Not sure if this was a cloud storage problem or if the game requires the network to play. Rebirth loaded no problem however

None of them do! FF VII remake is turning into a disaster! they couldn't even be bothered to continue the parts. Where TF did all my weapons go? Did Sephiroth steal them when I shouldn't have been fighting him at the end of the game in the 1st place? It's poorly conceived and Nomura should be fired over it.

For VI, they could do the obvious like rework some backstories, some interaction between the characters and NPCs to develop them further, some new sidequests, but in the end retain the main plot intact jaja

@@mikehawk6120I agree. But I also have had a lot of fun with these two games. I’m really trying to reserve my final judgment until the trilogy is completed. Who knows? Maybe they’re actually stuck the landing? I also have been looking to the organic and earnest reactions of all the new players to this new trilogy of games. And it seems the overall game experience for them has been overwhelmingly positive. That’s what we need to keep this franchise alive and thriving. New blood enjoying the same stories we did (generally). And this will hopefully lead to a return to form for the franchise’s future. We all need to remember, this is one of the longest game franchises in the world. And the only one to take risks by consistently changing.

It’s by FAR the best of both worlds and I didn’t think anyone could blend the two different types of battle systems together, LEAST of all SE. But they have and they did. Just give us the next one or two mainline games in the FF franchise to stick with this incredible Remake series battle system. Just like they used to do in the past 4-6 had pretty much identical battle system, and the same with 7-9 (granted these were variations on a theme - but by and large the same core battle system structure). Just give us more of this please! At least for the first being?

The Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy has been a polarizing disaster even among huge FF fans. If SqEx committed to multiple parts for FF9, a game with EXTREMELY protective fans, I feel like it would blow up in their face.

It’s far cheaper than what currently exists to get started. Sinden charges $300 plus an extra $250 for the pedal. Creative Arcade’s is $475 for a single lightgun, & Retro Shooter is around $400 for a 2 gun setup. $90 for the game & gun is a steal compared to the regular setup cost of buying all the equipment separately. That’s why it’s for the casual gamer, if you’re getting all that extra equipment, you’re not exactly a casual gamer. This is for the people who don’t want to go through the hassle of also buying additional equipment & then hoping it’s all compatible with the game you want to use it for. This is one & done, for a much lower cost of entry

I played the Time Crisis plug & play device at TGS. I asked if there would be more than just TC1. Said they're talking to Namco about getting 2 & 3 on there. I asked about Point Blank, but no plan for that it seems. Won't be able to download new games to the system. They will sell other boxes with new games installed without the gun in future. Release date was "maybe next summer". I was a little disappointed with it though: No kick back on the gun, which felt light. The pedal was almost like an analogue trigger, not just On/Off like the arcade. Everything was quite plasticky And, maybe I'm just rubbish at the game, but the calibration seemed off, as if it kept changing as you moved around the screen. Definitely needs some work and more than just Time Crisis 1.

I just think we're at the pinnacle in visuals in games to the point that we just want more good games and good performance, we don't need any more realistic graphics when they already look fabulous. Didn't Nintendo filed a patent for a "device that can be used for viewing/interacting with a 3D virtual space" in like 2022 or something? This might be related to that. Maybe a "VR/AR" solution using the Switch screen + this device as a "Kinect-like" motion and depth sensor. I can see a "Drawing in the air" AR game/app like some Samsung smartphones have.

Square Enix can do remakes right, just keep an eye out for who is on the team. If you dislike the reimaging/sequel aspect of the remake series, its because of Nomura. Just avoid his games, because that's his story telling device. Just look at kingdom hearts, TWEWY, etc.

They obviously do not own Spiderman rights, Spiderman is a Marvel property, Disney owns Marvel and thus the Spiderman character. Sony only owns the movie rights to Spiderman, not the character itself. Sony also doesn't own the videogame rights to Spiderman, hence why there are a million Spiderman games on basically every console ever made. They just entered into a contract with Disney to make exclusive Spiderman games, and in return, they have to pay Disney a bucket load of money as shown by the Insomniac hack. Just as an example, Disney takes a 50% cut of every Spiderman 2 PS5 bundle sold, which is insane. Disney is basically making money off of PS5 sales in that regard and Sony is practically giving the Spiderman game and the PS5 console away for free. But I believe Sony is required to make these Spiderman console bundles.

A lot of costs can come from useless filler jobs that try and make the economy and job market look like its doing fine, because these companies are run by evil people. Want absolute proof? Activate eagle vision in Abstergo at the start in Assassin's Creed 2, before the game even tells you about eagle vision. What appears on the ground is the Elden Ring logo (nordic symbol), a pentagram, an all seeing eye, and a pyramid filled with apples, with an apple as the keystone, alongside a lot of runes

FFIX is my favorite game of all time. My most played single player game. I used to map out my level grind. By the time I hit gizamaluke's grotto, I would be around lv 20, then grind grand dragons until level 50+, then enjoy the story from there. The cut scenes feel like a PS2 title on the PSOne. It needs small tweaks, like the card system, Amarant needs to either be replaced or redesigned to have personality and make us care. Then there's the Trance System that needs to ensure we can use it anytime we feel fit, rather than just as it fills up. Only 3 gripes. The Excalibur II wasn't a bad idea, especially for speedrunners, but that's who it was designed for. I love the challenge myself. Despite my love for it, I still acknowledge it as a 9/10.

I totally understand why someone would wait on this FF7 trilogy from a money perspecutve, even if there isnt a bundle down the line, the first two will only get cheaper. But there are SO many people who seem convinced that you'll get to play them back to back to back like its one combined, single game. For better or for worse, Remake and Rebirth are two separate games... With two separate games of content, mostly contained progression. If you wait because you think they the remake itself is chopped up piecemeal, its not. Whatever thats going on with FF7 is an expansion, and a reinterpretation. Theyre different games from the original. If you DON'T like that, then you likely wont like them even if you played them back to back. If you're intrigued by that, then play it sooner rather than later (on sale if you want) because Remake and Rebirth together is like 120 hours +. And if you haven't played the original, PLAY THE ORIGINAL FIRST... or atleast watch a longplay.

I have a pair of Aimtrak light guns that work beautifully with my flat screen and House of the Dead, Mad Dog McRee or any other you would like to play. After I ordered them, I watched some videos and the performance didn't look good. The videos showed horrible lag. When I got them, I hooked them up and loaded the software. They performed Flawlessly. 🙂 Idk if it was updated software or the fact that my gaming system was a lot beefier then theirs but I'm happy with the purchase. Aimtrak was actually my second choice. I wanted a pair of Sinden's but they weren't available at the time. I'm happy with my Aimtrak's. 🙂 Granted, Time Crisis needs a little creativity for arcade type play ( modified keyboard 🙂). No foot pedal included with neither Aimtrak nor Sinden...

Honestly they should remake FF8 before FF9. FF8 seemingly doesn't get the praise it rightly deserves. FF8 was a better game IMO and it clearly outsold FF9 significantly. FF9 was the first Final Fantasy game chronologically that I lost all interest in and quit playing. That places it in the same group as FFX-2, FFXII, and the FFXIII trilogy which are the entirety of the Final Fantasy series that I lost interest in. Every other FF game, I played through to completion and enjoyed.

Even if they did a more faithful adaptation of FF9, I think it's still going to be a massive undertaking. For one, 90% of the backgrounds in the game are pre-rendered, 2D images which just isn't going to fly nowadays. Meaning they'd have to render the entire world from the ground up. If they took any short cuts on that, purists would complain. Like if they took the FFXVI route and just had points on the map you could fast travel to, people would be mad you couldn't run around an open world like the original. Meaning they'd need to take the FFVIIRebirth route, and render the entire map, towns, cities, fields, oceans etc. for seamless travel, which again, is now a massive undertaking. It also spanned across 4 discs, so it has a lot of content to adapt. I don't think they're talking about changing the story like in FFVII. I think they just mean updating FFIX to today's standards is already a gargantuan undertaking
