The biggest problem with limited run games as well is that I had a issue with them because I received the product damage and they said to me that it's still good enough for me to use. Then I mentioned how at that point I would have been better off buying a digital copy I'm buying a physical copy and me receiving a damaged is the problem. They refuse to help or refuse to send me a refund so I had to take action with my bank and dispute the charge and they decided to close my account because of that

Then after my problem I heard that they had a program that you could pay more for shipping to have a better box to ship out your item. That's just something I heard but when I heard that from a friend I said you shouldn't have to pay an extra $3 to get a better box because if it gets damaged in transit it gets damaged in transit they should be responsible.

I got my first ever Xbox this year and I love it!! Gamepass is great, Quick resume is amazing, Red Dead 2 runs awesome and the console is super quiet. I used to be able to hear my ps4 pro across the room chugging even with headphones on. The Xbox Series X is such a great console it’s a shame most people chose to get a PS5 instead.

As I always say, the biggest problem with Xbox is Microsoft. The Xbox One world premiere debacle? Microsoft. Xbox One and Series games releasing cross-platform with Windows? Microsoft. The push for Xbox to pursue digital storefronts and the could? You guessed it, Bill Gates. Seriously, though, for an Xbox *anything* to work and sell units, Microsoft needs to give them a chance to push games and exclusive titles (on top of continuing the pursuit of power levels and backwards compatibility, which are 2 of the only things they consistently get right). That's why their first 2 consoles were able to make bank. When you remove all that and focus on shitty filler functions that nobody cares about or asked for (by which I mean everything the Xbox One world premiere showcased), you're looking at a critical and financial trainwreck.

Agreed re: Raytracing. It feels more like Next Gen jargon than anything else and the implementation hasn’t been mastered or optimized nearly enough and yet there it is dragging down performance constantly. And I imagine it isn’t for lack of effort so you also then wonder if there are other improvements to be had if the time were put towards them instead or would it reduce cost in an impactful way that would allow shortening of dev time, better profitability, etc. It has been said by many that we have kind of reached a point of diminishing returns with visuals and resolution technology and it just isn’t that impactful to the experience AND certainly not as impactful as the game running smoothly. I don’t need my games to try and be a movie or TV show and I believe the ambition to do so is a current industry pitfall. Games provide a unique experience and should prioritize what they can do that other media forms cannot. The core of gaming experiences are in mechanics and interactivity which rely heavily on performance. It is not to say a game must be X fps but it would be lovely if we could stop targeting performance and actually achieve it instead. In the immortal words of a Jedi master, “Do or do not, there is no try.”

@@Mac_Omegaly I'm sure when shaders were the new graphics trend people said the same thing. Then shaders got really good and now we can't live without them. The same will happen with ray tracing as the hardware gets more powerful. Not only that, when ray tracing becomes just a toggle on/off in these game engines it will free up dev time to focus on other things. Without ray tracing, devs have to spend a lot of time faking lighting.

@@zengamer21 I do enjoy the graphics. But I'm very much into retro 64 bit and older styles rather than the newer life like stuff. I'm not saying I want games to never improve graphical fidelity, but it's just that art style has suffered a lot over the obsession of meeting the "realistic" visual standard. And publishers push the most MTX seasonal garbage into bloated budget games. I don't think games need to be that expensive.

And once we're at the RT-only stage in a couple years, we'll see jaw-dropping art styles and wonderful graphics like we did with pixel art in recent years, because developing a good-looking 3D game will be so much easier from a technical standpoint. (Getting lighting and shadows right in a modern engine is an absolute nightmare and extremely time consuming. With path tracing, all you have to do is place your lights and tweak them to your liking, just like you'd do in a Blender render.)

You can say any length of time you like, 5 years, 20 years, 50 years even (if proprietary hardware is still a thing), Mario will never be on PlayStation. I am a little surprised that they dabbled in mobile games, but I don't see a mainline Nintendo game ever being on anything other than their own hardware.

I wonder since XB wants to be across PC, console and mobile, if the next system they’ll have a windows/xb hybrid os that’ll work across each platform. And then for third party devices like Rog, deck and lenovo they’ll have mobile os that boots up windows first. Anytime I see that World Championships cart I think about how that's how the decade started and then by the very start of the next we had the PS2. I know there is more to it because the NES actually came out in the mid-80s and we still have seen significant improvements in the decades of 2000-2010 and 2010-2020. Just knowing that the NES was the big thing in 1990 and then by 1999 we were playing Dreamcast seems like such a bigger jump than anything we've got in the past two decades.

You’re right, exclusives doesn’t sell consoles, it’s a combination of multiple things. Branding/marketing, reputation, hardware quality, and exclusive masterpieces sells consoles. Xbox has a couple of good exclusives, but what game really stands out or really really good. Can’t think of any. Xbox started this gen with bad reputation, so obviously they have to go the extra mile to beat its competitor. Look at Nintendo with the Switch, they went the extra mile. I didn’t see that with the Xbox unfortunately. Now they bought many studios, but those aren’t going to be exclusive anyways. Why buy an Xbox then.

Though typically on this channel and others, "console" typically refers to XBOX vs PS, since Nintendo is playing in its own sandbox by design.

The further out and like you say 25 years, I could see a Mario go multiplatform. Seeing MS and Sony already doing it, time will tell if Nintendo follows, and I believe they all will as Sony has done when it seen how successful MS has been on PC.

I would love it if all companies put their games on other devices. I have never bought a console because of an exclusive. People would still buy their preferred/favorite console like they do now, but game sales would increase.

I realize that LRG needs time to make and ship games, but by the time they deliver you're way outside of your bank's time limit to issue chargebacks in case something goes wrong. I really think banks and credit issuers need to step up their policies in regards to long preorders, kickstarters, steam chargebacks, and fraud in general. I feel like they are way behind the times.

The SW are the different games that they used in the tournament and the switches were to switch them. The time seconds were the times that they had to beat to get those high score so not sure I’m pretty sure everyone knows this though

I feel like Microsoft could get more folks on its platform and avoid going 3rd party if it told people how easy it was to play old games on there, especially with everybody looking to play Fallout now. With GamePass and backwards compatibility, I play my Xbox for everything that isn’t a Playstation exclusive.

I don't think T2 can justify to investors that keeping a studio alive just because games of their other studios are doing good. Every single studio has to be profitable on it's own, that's how businesses work.

At this point any LRG release i don't even consider. It's entirely another market for sealed hoarders/resellers, and you can't even wait for a first hand review to preorder them, because by the time it's shipping the preorder window has been long closed. It's just a dumb system.

Honestly, i didn't think much of Ray-tracing in the beginning of this generation. But when i played games like Uncharted: Rift Apart or Spiderman: Miles Morales. I must say, having RT on was really beautiful. Of course, if i have to choose between RT or 60/120fps, i'm going for the higher fps. ALWAYS! But if they can do it, i'll say put it in there!

For the Forza games, I see their release on Nintendo and Sony consoles a little bit more complicated than Halo, Gears or other Microsoft-owned franchises due to the licensing of cars and music. Yes, it's possible but it would make more sense to build new games from the ground up (pun intended) rather than to port existing ones. Either way, it's gonna be expensive no matter the choice.

I think its a smart move for microsoft to move in the way they are. All this generation, and even last generation, they've really just been setting themselves up as a huge "steam" like competitor. From game pass being able to seemlessly be used via your xbox, phone, or pc was huge. And they do it really well especially with cloud saves and what not. I was really impressed. It just makes sense that they make a machine that can handle steam, 3rd party games, and continue the route of game pass on pc/mobile and allow fans to just use their preferred platforms. Game Pass is super affordable and is honestly one of the best premium options for access to games and what not.

Jez is very unreliable. Only last year he said that MGS3 Remake is exclusive to PS and that’s just something from the top of my head. People just can’t stop engagement farming online. MS announces new hardware and more games/updates coming to Xbox but nope, let’s discuss Xbox going third party.
