I have kids and am on the go. The switch got me back into gaming after years of being too busy. Nintendo, they get it man. They just carved out their own niche and really own that space.

Dreamcast even had a ethernet port, and PS2 had online. Took Nintendo like 25 something years to finally get ethernet port.

I forget if I mention in my previous comment but to remind everyone, Yes it is going back to LCD screen, however, this LCD screen is quite an upgrade from the original Switch. It will likely be on par if not better than the new PlayStation Portal screen. Its a way to give fans an upgraded screen while keeping costs lower. Win win situation imo

Btw, The sliding of the joycons means exactly what you think, the joycons are supposedly going to fucntion as Mouse's aswell Oh and for the specs, its basically like holding a Ps4 pro (ish) in your hand with the same amount of Ram as an Xbox Series S so this thing is POWERFUL for a handheld device Yes it is going back to an LCD screen unlike to OLED upgrade, but people seem to forget LCD has massively improved. Playstation 5 Portal that released bot to long ago has a similar screen and it works great

I grew up with Nintendo and played physical pc games back in the day as a kid. Also, I did play PS2/PS3 growing up but lost interest in Sony after that. Being a musician/teacher, my budget can be tight so I can't afford the most expensive hardware out there.

The new Joycons have infrared sensors on the connection surface, so the assumption has been that they'd work as optical mice. Would be a neat feature, having two optical mice. Could make all kinds of dexterity-based games possible.

My brother bought a switch. Maybe a couple months later it wouldn't connect to internet and eventually just devolved into an orange screen upon turning it on. Never dropped it, spilled anything on it etc.

@ wow, a usb port. Its such a minimal fix they could've easily put it on the oled or lite. You're easily impressed. We saw ten seconds of a game, so it wasn't games focused. And we saw nothing of what the hardware is, so it was barely hardware focused. Nintendo youtubers have made/used better renders, the biggest difference is that the joycons are bigger and the screen is bigger. That's it. Having them be magnets virtually makes no difference.

I'm curious about how the controller's connect to the console's sides. The current ones slide in and feel secure, these appear to somehow fit into place and look like they may be prone to breaking the connectors. Almost like a USB recharging port on a phone. I do like the larger kickstand.

I'm a little interested because Nvidia is again behing this console's SoC, so maybe things like DLSS or FG could be used here, but that's all. I started gaming with a gameboy and a Nintendo 64 but after that I haven't had a real interest on Nintendo games. Even I was about to buy a Switch just to play Monster Hunter Generations but then CAPCOM announced Monster Hunter World and I just changed my mind and bought a PS4

Oh trust me in this economy I agree, but in terms of upgrades it's not so minor, at the switch 2s max it's about 3 times more powerful than the Original Switch, it's the equivalent of Taking A PlayStation 4 Pro and being able to hold it in your hands It's definitely worth getting eventually but I'd wait awhile for some of its next gen games to release before buying a new one
