The first 30 hours of Zelda were genuinely amazing. The excitement, the wonder, the lust for finding out what's underneath every rock and inside every chest. The following 30 hours were repeating the previous 30 hours and it slowly began to itch at me how I couldn't get that magic feeling back. Kinda like how heroin addicts say they can never get that first time feeling back after the first hit.

I get the feeling that the problem with figuring out if the Switch is a good product or not is that on one side you've got Nintendo fans who will forgive Nintendo for every design flaw and dodgy quality control and you've got Nintendo haters who will hate anything Nintendo puts out no matter what because they're obsessed with seeing Zelda on a PS4 and will blow any minor issue into the worse thing ever. It's really hard to get any hard data.

Gizmo fromPizmo I'm Nintendo agnostic, for the most part. I can acknowledge they might exist but don't bother trying to care because they haven't done anything worth bothering with in so goddamn long that it's an expected disappointment that I'm not about to spend money on. "Oh, you're doing another Mario and Zelda game with your new console? That's about it, isn't it?" I think they should really get behind software and maybe peripherals rather than doing their own home systems anymore. Maybe if they did, I'd actually play one of their games before it's more than a decade old

Honestly, I feel like it's almost impossible to truly evaluate how good a console is or not until we get a better look at the games its got backing it up. Be honest, do you sit down to play your PS4, or do you sit down to play God of War 3? We shouldn't judge the Switch until it's gotten time to settle in the market.

I like nintendo and their games but I'm a gamer first and foremost and the switch is a great console it just has issues which sadly means that the people who bought it will have to suffer until the lite switch comes out, (yes I went there dood) as for the breath of the wild I haven't even played it myself and can see issues with it but by no means is it a bad game, just flawed, people really need to stop hating and realise that and strangely the same for people who are nintendo/LoZ lovers too dood.

What looney would want to carry a $500 rig around anyway? And how lame would it be to carry a case or a bookbag for this thing? Haven't played handhelds on the go since I was a kid getting dragged out by my mom. Jesus people, put down the electronics for a moment and stop being afraid to live with your own thoughts... Idk, the whole mobility gimmick is extremely pointless. People talk about bringing it to Cons and shit, but fine, whatever. It's not that big of an improvement. You gonna haul it to the drs office and play for five minutes? Or take it through airport security? Or are you gonna sit out somewhere in public trying to be cool, maybe play basketball games next to a basketball court like the ad suggested, heh.

+Google Sucks I bought it almost entirely on the promise that I could take good games with me. Phone games lose their luster after a day or two and I haven't been tempted by a portable system since my GBA SP. Honestly I've played this thing at least 10x as much in handheld mode as I have in console mode because it fits my life better than sitting chained to a TV. I also travel for work quite frequently, so taking this on trips was a huge up-side. Not to mention the USB battery packs I already own keep this thing running just fine if I need to play more than three hours at a stretch. Plus using USB-C instead of a terrible proprietary connector is a huge bonus because of cheap and available accessories. I've largely ignored the gaming world since I boxed up my Wii several years ago, but this thing grabbed my attention and I love it. If you haven't played one, maybe reserve judgment until you have because playing for 5 minutes here and there works remarkably well due to the OS's speed, and my console, Joy-Cons, battery pack, cables, and games all fit into a $10 padded zipper case from Amazon that's maybe 3x as thick as the console itself and maybe an extra inch in the W and L measurements. If it's not for you that's perfectly valid, but don't claim "the whole mobility gimmick is extremely pointless" when that's one of the things many people like about it the most. We carry around phones and tablets that cost north of $500 all the time. Why not pack this on your road trip, business trip, etc. as well?

Calamity Gannon, as everyone and their mother calls him in breath of the wild is a characterless force of evil in this game because he is literally a arguably sentient curse. The character Gannondorf is ancient demon king curse + gerudo. wind waker gannondorf has either gotten rid of said curse or drastically decreased its influence on him, resulting in him having a personality. Calamity Gannon has no personality because it's the curse without Gannondorf as a host, resulting in less of a character and more a mindless evil

The Gerudo Hero was just talking about Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time. The society from Hyrule in BotW is one that was advanced and lasted enough to finally notice that the Hero, the Princess and the Demon had been reincarnating since the beginning of time, so they had many "legends" that they found out by learning the stories of the previous iterations of this fight. Ganon tried to take a physical form a thousand years ago and got nuked the fuck out by the guardians and the Celestial Beasts. So the second time he came around he ditched the physical body and just came as a curse to overtake the technology.

Honestly, I found the NPCs to be lacking, for the most part. Loved what they did with almost everything else, but the NPCs and, to a lesser extent, the towns, felt like filler. Hopefully Aonuma looks at the Trails/Kiseki series for inspiration on how to build a believable world via NPC interaction.

Mega Man no one character in the entire game is a walking dictionary. Every character has different dialogue depending on the time of day, what clothes (or lack of) you're wearing, if you helped them against enemies or not, if you've done certain quests. There's even a guy that freaks out if you climb up on the bridge he's near and tries to talk you out of suicide. So no, his point is idiotic and so are you for trying to parrot him.

The problem I have with Zelda reviews on major gaming outlets is how they are always reviewed by huge fans of the series. This applies to any game really with a large fan base. Why do we have super fans reviewing games when we know they'll give a 9 or a 10 because they'll love it unconditionally. Who would these reviews even target? The big Zelda fans would buy it anyways. It would make more sense gonna be people who are minor fans of Zelda at best. So that people that aren't big into the series can see if it's worth their time. I mean this happened with Skyward Sword where critics loved the game but is dislike by a number of fans.
@ugxsan
@ugxsan 7 жыл бұрын
Because if you don't like Zelda games, why do you care about a review of a Zelda game for any other reason to complain? A fan of a particular game series is familiar with what generally makes that series likeable, meaning they can speak to fans of that series on whether or not the new game in that series has anything for them. You don't send someone who has never played a Zelda game before, because they'll have a completely different experience to what 70% or so of their readers are likely to have. You also don't send someone who has a love/hate relationship with the game or a general "meh" reaction to it because they'll be just a biased (believe it or not) since reviews are subjective, anyways.
@Weezygeeza97

Roy Lee It's a reviewers job to give people THEIR opinion of the game, and whether or not THEY would recommend it or not. Just because someone is a super fan of something, doesn't mean they're completely incapable of looking at something rationally as seeing what's good and what isn't. Jim Sterling is a big fan of Zelda, and he didn't give it a completely glowing review. The people that attacked him for giving it a 7/10 are the people you don't want reviewing games

You know the worst thing? When a really good game gets a 5/10, just because the person who rated it doesn't like RPG's. You *should* have a fan of the genre or the series rating it, because most people will be wondering how it stacks up against other games in its genre, or its series.
@williamproto6164
@williamproto6164 6 жыл бұрын
+Weezygeeza97 I would agree if they actually got fans of every series they had reviews of instead of just always using superfans for the big names to be safe. Look at Yakuza, 0 and Kiwami reviews were universally done by people who admitted to not having played any of the series beforehand.

The reason for the charging port being at the bottom of the screen becomes obvious once you see an accessory they are now selling: a stand that elevates your Switch far enough off the table that you can reasonably plug a cable into the bottom. Oh, and it costs $20. For a piece of plastic with a notch cut in the bottom. Sweet dreams!
