Quick note! If you have two Switches, you can change your Lite to the "Primary" console to prevent it from having to check in constantly! Granted, this means your other Switch will have to check-in, but since you'll presumably be using it at home, it will likely always have a data connection minimizing the issue :)

Mairead Hudson you can deactivate the primary system in the eshop without deleting anything by finding the option in the eshop profile settings, then signing in to eshop on your lite will make it the primary and your original switch the secondary device. you can also transfer save data that isn’t cloud backed up without transferring the entire system each time.

Formula Flight Nah, they have confirmed that they’re aware of the problem, heck, the lawsuit had to get on their butts in order to get them to do something, Nintendo has offered to take in all defective joy cons and fix them for free. However we still don’t know if they fixed the design flaw. I would suggest keeping an eye of a channel named Spawn Wave, he dissected the joy-cons and revealed why they’re drifting, and chances are he’s going to open a Switch Lite up and see if they fixed it or not.

Switch Lite has more portability and is easier to carry. I'm afraid OG Switch just doesn't do portable nor docked play well compared to portable or home focused consoles. I hope Switch Pro fixes that issue.

GameXplain, I don’t know if you guys did not mention the following things on purpose, but I think you should mention the potential for Joy-Con drift as well as mention the inconvenience that will be transferring saves for games that do not support cloud saves. I especially think, as a trusted source of video game news, it is your guys’ responsibility to caution your audience that the Lite likely has the potential for the stick drift issue. I know that it has not been confirmed to have the issue yet, but until it is deconfirmed, potential buyers need to know that if it happens they will need to go through the process of sending their console in and potentially losing save data...which brings me to my next point. You mentioned that you can transfer saves between Switch systems, but you failed to say that that won’t be as simple for games that do not support cloud saves. In order to transfer your saves for Splatoon, Pokémon, and Animal Crossing, owners will have to manually transfer the data between the systems EVERY SINGLE TIME they want to switch between them. I love the channel, and you guys do an amazing job at getting to the point and not dragging out videos for ads. However, please make sure that your audience is as informed as possible about the positives and the negatives when doing reviews. I would hate for people to be blindsided by these issues.

For those game without cloud saves yeah it a little annoying but not the end of the world. There multiple videos explaining the process.

You could make the Lite your main console when you go outside by going to the eShop on the other Switch, deregister that and then register the Lite. You can then simply reverse it when you are back home and want to play on TV (or even keep the Lite your primary system as you would have WiFi at home)

Ah, the agonizing wait for limited edition Zamazenta and Zacian edition of the Switch Lite! I tried a turquoise Switch Lite at my local game shop while picking up Link's Awakening today, and God does it feel good to hold in the hands! The texture has this slight roughness to go with the matte finish and it just feels sooo good. Almost got tempted to pick the turquoise set up! Alas, I don't wanna double dip with a regular Lite with all the limited editions that are bound to come out!

pollo20x6 I think Nintendo is looking into it, the early adopters can turn theirs into Nintendo. I don’t think it’s the worst of the worst, but it is an issue regardless.

EMOODY _EM nobody really knows yet as the console hasn't been out out for that long yet. But I did see something that said that the connected joy-cons are extremely similar to the normal joy-cons

Gonna hold out a couple months to see what sort of verdict we get on the sticks. At this point, it might still be cheaper/easier to go the OG Switch route since you can replace the Joy-Con if they get broken.

I am still hopeful for a Dock Lite because its inability to dock may just be a firmware lock, they knew people would try to dock it haha. I also don't know why they would choose to include that little groove behind the charging port if they weren't at least thinking about it. IDK, but a teeny yellow dock would be so cute!
