I tried using a heat gun to move the chip. I did move it. But I flipped my switch over, and now it is burnt plastic. The screen is ruined. I just lost everything

fixed mine try this ( press the power button to turn on then hold the home button until it boot up) hope it helps

My friend had the same problem, the switch wouldn't turn on at all and would get stuck on the logo, he got a new one and gave me his old one, in case i could fix it or something, when he gave it to me it had around a year of inactivity, and for some reason it turns on fine, but it has the same issue as after ur attempt at repair here, so it doesn't recognize any wifi sources, strangely enough sometimes it connects to the wifi, but after a few hours it looses connection again. I keep it in lock mode to charge it instead of fully off because for some reason it wouldn't charge fully off. And not it even lost bluetooth capability, so joycons dont work with it unless they are attached to the console, i've scattered the web for fixes but nobody seams to be talking about this problem unless they are asking for help with the same issue

Yes seems to be same kid of problem. I have ordered new WiFi chip so an update to this will come pretty soon.

​@@blu3ntvSome progress. I actually have two switches with the same issue. I have changed wifi chip on both switches and one of them booted but had no bluetooth only wifi. Unfortunately Im struggling a little to find time to continue this but it will be done, hopefully in May. The next thing I will do is to swap the M92 chip between these two switches and see if that has any difference or if it's only wifi-chip related.

Nice video, I'm having a similar problem, but my Nintendo Switch doesn't show any sign of life, not even the logo appears, I've already tested the power connections, battery and everything in order, but I'm suspecting that the problem could be this too because when I press the power button a little intermittent noise starts to sound right from the area of the Wifi chip and just stop if I disconnect the battery, can I have results if I follow this method?

Thank you. I have not encountered a problem like this with some strange noise so I don't know. The only time I have done something to the WIFI chip is if I remember correctly if it has had an orange screen, staying on the boot logo or just have no Wifi at all. Would be interesting to know how much volts and amps it draws when it's powered on.

Mine turned back on when this happened into regular system... I tried installing a custom theme and now I'll most likely have to fix it and I'm crossing my finger deleting theme folder will work

Hey this interesting. You think the Switch Lite has a similar WiFi chip problem. Because I trying to fix one with the same problem as yours but it was water damaged. Btw is this Switch still working (minus WiFi)?

I don't know, but It wouldn't suprise me at all if the Lite have the same problem. My switch is at the moment stuck at boot logo, so the wifi chip is most likely bad. Unfortunately I don't have time to do the replacement at this time :( If however you can get the Switch to boot past the logo and then put it into flight mode, I'm pretty sure the Switch will work until you do a reboot.

@@finfixerluc4579 - I can confirm Switch Lite has the same problem. I got a new Switch Lite that had lot of issue to connect, it could only connect to Wifi sporadically (a common issue with the Switch Lite, looks like they went for cheap chip). After three months, I have the stuck-at-logo error too, I did some searches on Reddit and a guy did a very long troubleshooting post, to finally confirm that having a dead Wifi chip will result in the Lite being stuck at logo. Note however, as said FINFixer Luc, you need to opt out the charging chip first (leave the console on to empty the battery, then plug it and check if it has charged and power).

Torilla tavataan! Swedish neighbour here. I got the exact same problem. I turned my switch off, then tried to access maintenance mode, and that's when I couldent get past the switch logo screen. I can however get into hekate, which is weird. How many switches have you had to fix this way?

Hello Sweden, I have fixed one out of two that had staying on logo screen problem. The other one is actually this one that right now needs a new wifi chip. I will change the chip eventually when I have more time. If your switch boots to Logo screen and it fast charges then it might be the wifi chip. What exxactly did you do? I'm having the same problem with my switch, did you just apply flux and heat it up?

I just applied flux and heated up the wifi chip so the solder balls all got connected, if that would have been the problem. However in my case the switch booted but the wifi chip needs so the be changed in order to fix the switch.

Well I bought the white OLED brand new 3 weeks ago and it came up with error 2107 0445 and black screen, abosulute joke. New console and the fact that this could even be an issue is so disappointing, now I need to pay $160 to fix it because i don't want to wait a month for nintendi to fix it

what temp and airflow are you using?

Airflow something like 7-8 out of 10. Temp I think I blasted it with something like 380C, it was some time ago. I should make a followup to this video, but haven't really had time.

No :) its just quite cheaply made. Also because everything is so tiny nowadays just dropping the Switch can cause all sorts of problems including this.

have you come across the freeze at the Nintendo logo? you can still use a ethernet cable on these no WiFi switches. from my testing. obviously this will depend on what part of the chip has gone faulty

Does the Nintendo text show up, and then the console turns black and freezes? If so I'm just now finishing one that did that and it was the fuel gauge chip. However It could also be the M92 chip check wiki page for some info www.repair.wiki/w/Nintendo_Switch

After upgrading my router and allowing my Switch onto the WIFI 6, It bricked a few days after. I first noticed an orange screen that wouldn't go away unless reset, now my switch wont boot at all and is stuck on logo start up screen. It's either the wifi chip and or the Bluetooth (Unless they're the same) I noticed when I used a wireless controller, it made the system act all bugged out.

Yes it's the same chip. So probably the chip is going bad, or the chip have a bad contact.
