My first Nintendo console, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). I didn't get mine until the late 80's, when it came with the Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt game and the grey NES Zapper. I grew up with the NES in the late 80's and 90's. I haven't played since the early 2000's, in 2002 to 2003. And also lost my grey NES Zapper and NES Advantage. The Control Deck Set (both with and without Super Mario Bros.) first appeared during 1986, months after its second test launch in Los Angeles.

Nice video. Christmas '85 I got the Deluxe Set with ROB the cool robot. Super Mario was the best. After replacing the pins that NES still works. My '91 SNES still plays. 1000s of hours of fun.

First seeing the Nintendo logo in a local mall in '86 I thought it was pronounced "nine-ten-doo" like someone was counting down and giving a directive. And you know? If the old man didn't vehemently hate all things Japan and didn't think "TV Games" were the work of literal Satan, we may have actually had one. Tell you what though. Buying a shiny new SNES on my own for my 20th more or less made up for it all. Felt like I was getting away with something.
