@@Wasechubby depends on the type of cloth you used i just bought 5 wiis and i managed to get one to read disks with this trick but not the other two for one of them a bunch of blue stuff came out on the cloth and the last one the dang cloth fell off inside the drive so ill be taking them both apart

Thanks for the video. I followed all of your directions, however my wife said the wii still wouldn't read. We opened it up, blew it out, alcoholed some parts and it still wouldn't read. Thats when I noticed that my wife was inserting the disc upside down... 🙃 everything's working great now! Lol 🤣

Here's what happened to me: I was playing a game, for an unknown reason it crashed, I had to reset everything. Now the game launches but when I wanna choose a save file I have the loading screen but hear "tchak...tchak" in the console and then it crashes. This disk has been there for a week, and now some disks that it used to read won't make it anymore. Could it still be the lens, since it can still recognise the disc but can't play it, or is my disc dead ?

Sounds like system itself is failing if it is several disc. It could be lens but without looking at I am not 100% sure

@@bernardlermite178 medical alcohol is just a another name for isopropyl alcohol so you should be fine, 90% isopropyl alcohol is perfect since it dries up quickly after cleaning so after maybe 10 minutes you should be able to check your console.

That was a deal $50 for all that. Mario kart Wii and Wii sports resort were the best games I saw on there. Is this fix workable on the Wii U.

It was a steal! Plus several games downloaded on the Wii! I am not sure if this technique would work on Wii U. If Wii U is set up like Wii then I think it would but I don’t own Wii U so not 100% sure. Thanks for watching!

Quick question, how do u know if the wii machine is reading the disk right, or if it’s the disk that don’t work. Only 2 of my wii games work while the others can’t be read. Also some games will work for a few seconds but then says it can’t be read

Tooth paste destroys the disc, use an alcohol wipe and rags

They have simple disc repair kits. However, even those depend on the severity of the scratches in question. Basically you spray it with a cleaning fluid that fills in the scratches. While rotating the disc with the repair kit.

Where exactly is the lens? I saw another KZbin video where the cleaning cloth was facing the interior, that is, facing the side nearest the front panel buttons. In your demo, the cloth is facing towards the edge of the box, meaning it's oriented away from the front panel buttons. Thanks.

It's on the fat side of the disk tray aka the one with the buttons I think may have done it the other way when he was actually cleaning it but the wrong way in the video
