​@@gamesake999 the online leaderboards are down, but there's cyberscore as an alternative if you still have your 3ds (it's a high score/speedrun website), you just need a picture to prove your score most of the time

For a long, even though I love the concept of leaderboards, I've been less than enamored by the reality of leaderboards, and I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm impressed by people that can pick up and play any game with good proficiency, from Madden to Mario to Mahjong, but I'm not all that impressed by people that have 250 hours of free-time to perfect a single game mechanic. Leaderboards feel like more of the latter and less of the former. I feel like I'm competing with professionals that for some reason have chosen a profession that doesn't pay, and that's not really that fun. I suppose achievements could scratch some of that itch vis a vis the cross-game tracking, but it's more tracking of progress than a demonstration of proficiency. And it doesn't exist on Nintendo, so that, too. Good night.

I mean you assume that people put 1000s of hours in a game to get on the boards. I probably put in like 5 or less hours and got rank 36 at NES donkey kong in preparation for this game, its not always people who grind that are the best.
